New Sponsor

Recommended Posts

Just been glancing through the suggested sponsors for next season, and most of them seem to be transport related. But has anyone thought about non-transport related sponsors.

I'm thinking along the line of a company such as Baratt Homes (spelling may be incorrect here). Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this company have been building new housing around the football ground, plus I think they may have the contract to build the 9000 or so homes for the newly developing Ebbsfleet.

It's just a thought.

Good thinking Kev.

Or it could be Wimpey. With the extra money we could get Barry Fries in as manager. He could make Patrick Burger his first signing. That'll be something to relish.

God I'm bored. When does the season start?

Or we could get all the fast food rivals in, re-sign Charlie and nickname him Ronald (!), and get Jeff 'Burger' King on board!

  • 2 weeks later...

The current issue of the Gravesend Messenger remarked that the gossip was that the Club's new sponsor will be Eurostar. From what has been written since Austrian were turned down to sponsor the club next season, what we have gathered from comments made by directors at meetings or to the press is that the sponsorship is to be for a 3 year period and is to be the most lucrative deal the Club has yet had. This implies a sponsor that has significant resources.

My guess (and it is nothing more than that) is that it could be one out of the following:-

1. Eurostar.

2. Land Securities

3. London & Continental

4. Lafarge.

5. Euro Disney

Of these, I think that if Lafarge (ex Blue Circle/APCM) had ever intended to be a sponsor it would have happened a few seasons ago. Eurostar seem a bit too obvious, but are credible. Land Securities are so wealthy if they wanted to sponsor a football club they would be considering the Premiership. London & Continental built the railway and will have, I understand a role in the commuter service to St Pancras, so will have a continuing presence in the area. Euro Disney is a long shot but with U S A businesses buying up/sponsoring English teams virtually every week why not?

However, my most likely choice is (toss of coin)...... ex-Union Rail, now called London & Continental. When is the announcement? June 5th? We shall have to wait and see.

On the basis of it being a travel link, I reckon it's either Eurostar or LCR. Since Eurostar are in money trouble, LCR seems the more likely currently, especially as Ebbsfleet International is the most significant new station on the line in terms of local area. The station will boost local development hugely, so it would make sense for the station owners to also boost the "Ebbsfleet" United club.

eurostar will be the main sponsors, they will pay for the new stadium, name it after them selves, own the club, pay for a new squad, get us promoted, raise their own profile, we will become a household name, and rise to the heights of the football league, millions invested in us.... over take gillingham, charlton and west ham.so everyone now all together,,,,,,chear chear here come the fleet....trust me i know a man who says so...

I'd like to know what Up Fleet's been taking 'cos I'd like some! But seriously, it's Eurotunnel with the financial problems, Eurostart have a few Euros piled up in the bank. Cash rich I think the phrase is. Lafarge are a no-no; I used to work for them & that type of sponsorship isn't their 'thing'.

Only 8 days until the big announcement.

Well, I will say that the new sponsor will not be Eurostar, but something like Barratt Homes. Obviously if it was Eurostar, I would be over the moon and pleased to be wearing the new Ebbsfleet United shirt with Eurostar on the belly grin

But we shall have to wait and see!

What ever the sponsor. It's gonna be big. Must be. The announcements taking place at Canary Wharf. Also I'd hate to think they sold GNFC down the river for a sponsor like Cosy Bowls (a swanscombe thing).

Eurostar by the way now have a big store over at Bluewater so the tie up fits nicely.

Hmmm...The Brittania Lead Stadium. Sort of a Stoke City feel to things there.
