AFC job in high demand / Managers

Taken from the Evening Standard last night.

At AFC Wimbledon, there is much speculation as to the man to replace Dave Anderson as manager after the team failed to gain promotion from the Ryman League Premier League.

With so many former Dons stars at the ground (referring to a Wimbledon O.B XI .v. Chelsea Legends XI match recently),the rumour mill was doing overtime with the names of Dean Holdsworth,Warren Barton & Scott Fitzgerald all supposedly in the frame.

The board members will not be swayed by sentiment & will appoint whoever is the right man, but outside of the football league there are few better jobs, backed up by the fact that 60 applicants have already applied for a team that attracts nearly 3,000 supporters for every home game.

If there is a model for AFC to follow, its Dagenham & Redbridge, who have just made it out of the Conference & into League Two.
