Roddis leaves the Saints

Recommended Posts

But he is entitled to it, presumably?

I, too, object to the inference in the first six words of Duke of York's post, but then I also object to the inference in the last seven of yours*, Son of Geordie

[*What a shame they weren't both six words - it would have permitted a neater objection by me, but you get the general idea.]

In the St Albans Observer two weeks ago, Gibbo is quoted: "We have had a couple of cursory chats with Nick [Roddis] and Dean [Austin]."

As you say, Laz, it would be good to hear some positive news soon.

I'm sure there will be an announcement when the time is right!

If not then hopefully there will be an update in all the papers tomorrow.

I'll be joining the queue outside the shop shortly, AFF.

I've just put a chalk-mark down on the pavement Laz, reserving your place. You're behind three of the chavs and in front of two chaps from the Cola Stand - they are looking forward to chatting through the relative merits of John Colfer and Richard Evans! All night long.

Community Support Officers are on the scene as the queue was in danger of merging with one where people are waiting for the latest delivery of some cream stuff to Boots.

I met some jolly interesting chaps from the Cola stand, actually, Rob. We agreed upon the Saints team of the decade in each of the 10 decades of the club's history, as well as the worst players ever seen in the yeller & blue. They had an encyclopaedic knowledge of the pre and post war eras as a matter of fact, but, other than Stan Johnson and Wilfred Minter, I wasn't able to contribute much prior to the Muddie years.

Quotable quotes by past Chairmen covered the last hour and a half before dawn.

When it finally arrived, The St Albans Observer was eagerly consumed in about 4 seconds. Paul Bastock: 'I might have stayed if Colin had, but I would like to be closer to my family'. Lee Clarke: 'We're all in suspenders awaiting the announcement of a new manager'. Jose Mourinho: 'I would have taken the post but I want a bigger budget, a new stadium, training at least once each week, and I insisted upon my own appointment of a Reserve team manager'.

No. Not the last one. I made that up.

Bastock said he was leaving after the last game. I've seen no official announcement about his departure.

It makes sense not to rush into anything but the players will need to know where they stand over the coming months.
