We're Proud !!!

I for one have nothing but praise for our squad. All season they have tried and tried and have given us some incredible moments. I would like to say a very BIG thankyou to ALL of them , and (has been said before) they really do have a bond toward this club. The management have inspired and given encouragement to which the lads respond to.

 

Moving on. The support by the fans has been in my opinion the best I have seen for many a year, and that is down to the fact that there is a real progression both off and on the field. There is a genuine feel good factor when you walk through the turnstyles and we are attracting more supporters because - A) We really are a welcoming club - We are loud and proud on the terraces (albeit doing silly things like taking shoes off etc) hehehe - Next season I believe the women fans are planning on doing the same with their shirts !!!

 

After the game I think it is fair to say there was the biggest and longest applause I have ever witnessed at a Billericay game.

Not sure if any others saw it but did you look at our players when just before the penalties a chant started going round our end "Were proud of you, were proud of you" - Well it was our fault we lost on pens as I think they were a bit choked by what they were hearing

 

So, back to New Lodge. Again, when the lads walked in, I am not sure they were expecting that reception either! MATTY JONES AND HIS BLUE N WHITE ARMY !!!

 

It is true, we have made many a friend along the way, (some recent new friends) and we will attract many more supporters through the turnstyle, because (think it is fair to say) If you come and stand with The Blue Army you DO have a laugh ! And, If you stand in any other parts of the ground you WILL actually have a proper conversation!!!

 

And finally, a HUGE thanks to the folk who keep our club where it is - and work tirelessly for it...(You Know Who You Are)

Think "sargon" is a/the Swifts "fan", and not even remotely connected with the Clarets. I appreciate that some of the Clarets fans can be a bit testy at times, but none of them will sink as low as this guy. Just ignore him, and he might slither away!

With the squad we assembled and the $$$ we were supposingly paying to the likes of Minton, we should of won the league.

The simple fact is that we did not for a number of reasons, mainly our own fault.

I would guess that if we do retain the players that we have had this season, we will be there or there abouts come next May. Jeff will not let it happen again.

If you do replace the players that you are losing with similar quality then I would expect to see Ricay near the top as well.

Teams like AFC and Margate will strengthen and all in all, should be interesting...
