Get rid of the offside rule

To start you off for the week I thought I'd offer you this topic.

 

It's worked very well in hockey, would save one heck of a lot of 'was it, wasn't it?' discussions/arguments and could lead to a more open style of play.

 

What do you all think?

Would save us having to explain the offside rules to you girlies!!!

 

Anyway in hockey is it a case of you can't shoot from anywhere inside the 'D'? (apologies my knowledge is rather hazy )

 

Back on subject though, the offside rule is needed as us blokes would have nothing to talk about on a Saturday night down the pub!!!

I agree, it works in Hockey.....but I would go further, players should be allowed to carry sticks too...

I think that the offside rule shld be taken away..
for example in tonights spurs game against blackburn, spurs wldve been bout 3 up if it wasnt for the lino putting his flag up for offside!!

in general it would stop disagreements as well.

Does it really matter? It would have to be a ruddy good fee kick not only to get in on target from the teams own half but also to catch the 'keeper out.

 

As for giving players sticks... They roll on the ground enough as it is! Let's not give them any more reason to play dead.
