Oh well.....

Gutted to have lost yesterday but I spose asking to win our fourth shoot-out on the trot was a bit much for us.

I thought the game didn't quite have the same quality as the league game a couple of weeks ago but hardly a surprise given what was at stake. I thought Bromley had the better of the first half, we had much the better of the second half and shaded a tense period of extra time.

Our lads have done everything asked of them and probably more this season and we are are rightly proud of their efforts along with the management team. Thanks also to the non-playing staff team for all their efforts this season. It's been fun.

Although we probably don't think it now, the Ryman is a good league, there are some strong teams and some attractive fixtures for us in this league (and not too far to travel).

Well done lads! Come on you Blues!!!

Thought we were well on top for most of second half. Bromley looked tired early and towards the end of 90mins I thought we were probably going to nick it.

Strange, but I didn't feel at all nervous going into the penalties at MP. But yesterday I could barely bring myself to watch.

A great day none the less to top a great season. Thanks to everyone at New Lodge who's helped make it possible.

And thanks to Bromley for helping to make it a great day for non-league football yesterday. No segregation, beer on the terraces and good humour all 'round. Nice touch from a lot of their fans coming over and shaking hands at the end. You tend to forget it was as nerve wracking for them as it was for us.

And some good new fixtures to look forward to in the new season including a couple of new local derbies with Harlow & Hornchurch.

And finaly... good luck to "The Iron" against Salisbury in their play-off final.

We've played Bromley 7 times in the last couple of seasons and there's never been much between the two sides. We all knew this would be a tight game, and I don't think either side really deserved to lose. There's no shame in losing on pens, and we can be proud of our lads - they gave it their very best shot.

This has been a fantastic season and I believe that we lost it at the start but once Joe started firing we picked up. I think that next season he will firing from the begining and we will be up there from the start (fingers crossed).

I am looking forward to the challenge and hope to get to more games especially the away ones.

I would also like to thank all the players and off pitch staff from Steve all the way down to Taff (who gives me verbal abuse everytime I walk through the turnstile).

Yesterday was pretty devastating, but im still massively proud of the players and supporters. Weve had a fantastic season, but weve had enough of this play off nonsense, lets have the title next year! Cheers to Matt, Steve, all the players, and all the officials and volunteers who have helped make it a great year. See you all in august

Both yourselves and the Clarets should be strong contenders for the title next year. Now that Hampton and Bromley have gone, we are theoretically the first and second strongest sides in the league (though obviously, without knowing the relative strengths of Hornchurch, Harlow, Hayes, etc.), we won't know if it's going to work out like that.

BUT, with your relatively young side now improving with every game (superb record over the second half of the season), and our lads determination to improve our dismal away record against considerably lower placed teams, next season looks extremely promising for both the Clarets and yourselves.

We MUST try to get promotion together, though I would prefer it to be US that gets the automatic slot!

I just read that thread on the Bromley forum and had a lump in my throat whilst reading it.

Well done to our boys on a great effort during the game and extra time.

Asking them to pull off a replica of Monday night was a big ask. But hey they were Sooo close to doing it.

I am so proud to be a fan of this club & can't wait to do it all again next season.

The team have drastically over performed over the course of the season and if Matt and Steve can persuade the nucleus of the squad to stay the then the club can only go onto bigger and better things as for the most part the team are very young and can only learn from their experiences of this season

Next season will be tough as Hornchurch should be up their challenging as they won the Ryman One North with over 100 points

If anyone doubts what our club is about, then just read that Bromley thread.

I was privileged to spend a day in the company of our team yesterday, a day away from football. The friendship camaraderie and and respect they have for each other was clear to see. The banter was so very very funny, with the gaffer taking the brunt of it.

It was clear to me that our players enjoy playing for Billericay just as much as us fans enjoy watching them.

Congratulations to H & R and Bromley, two venues that I will genuinely miss next season, and of course, a big good luck to Braintree, what an achievement that would be if they were to be promoted.

I can only repeat what I said on Saturday is that everyone that either plays, works, supports or is associated with the club in any fashion have done the club proud this season.

Even though we lost on Saturday, everyone can hold their heads up...

...lets keep it up and get better next season

Considering the penalties from the Chelmsford match I thought you would have been firm favourites from the spot. But twas not to be. Another year in the Ryman Prem, but as someone has mentioned there are still a number of very good teams there, with local derbies galore and Wimbledon still around so it should hopefully prove to be another interesting and tight season.

Nice to have a couple of months off though.
