Giving clubs finishing 5th in Conference North & South a chance of promotion via play-offs is cruel. If they can't win even half their North/South games, what chance do they stand in the top division? Would prefer 3 down from Conference National, replaced by 2 champions plus 1 play-off winner from 2nd & 3rd North/South. I know this gives us less chance of promotion again, but it's only worth going up with a good side.

I take it Farsley won then?

Yeah just saw that on the BBC website. So both Salisbury and Farsley gain successive promotions. Impressive achievements but reckon both will struggle next season.

I briefly used to go out with a girl from Farsley who lived just around the corner from Throstle Nest(not that she'd let me take her there either)....I can't recommend anywhere in the area for a drink...particularly not Pudsey town centre...you'll be glassed before you get to the bar!

They must be one of the least supported clubs to get to the conference...I expect a few of the Elland Road exodus will go watch them next season rather than league one for £30.

I reckon Salisbury will be the only club that have gone up this year that will have the resources and support to sustain life in the conference. I fear the other 3 will find themselves in the same predicament we were in this season. On another note good luck to Morecambe in the play off final this weekend making it 2 new clubs in the football league will be good for football and i think it will show some of the ex league clubs in the conference that they don't have a divine right to league status.

Farsley, Histon and the other new place, have definately added some tin to the pot for next season. At least St Albans, Tamworth, Southport and Altrincham are proper places with proper football clubs.
