Final result Sittingbourne 2 Margate 4 (Barron 2 smith and A Weatherley)

Margate went 1 up on about 15 mins through a good piece of work by the ever impressive Paul Axon down the right flank cutting the ball back along the 6 yard line for Barron to run across the face of his marker and cooly finish low down to the keepers right.

Both teams battled hard but Margate were being caught far to easy in defence with the ball over the top, all 4 defenders Heath, Smith, Stokes and Harker were all guilty of lack of consentration and Sittingbourne soon leveled with some fine work by their no 9 (sorry no name)who impressed throughout making it 1-1 at half time. Soon after the restart MW changed it putting Dan Allen back from left mid field to his natural favoured position of left back and the defence looked more settled.

Pratt and Barron worked tirelessly closing the defence down really quickly this paid dividens when Axon picked up a defensive mistake and croossed to the far post for Smith to head in low bottom corner. The lead was short lived when Sittingbourne broke quickly and again there no9 finished at the far post.

The pitch was terrible making it hard to keep control and the brikkies defence was closed down quickly forcing a mistake, Axon picked up the loose ball and raced at the right back turning him inside out finally crossing for The in form Barron to lose his marker and once again finish with a curling drive to the keepers right.

Margates fourth goal was one to savour for two reasons

One because it was Andrew Weatherleys first goal of the season and two because it was a absolute screemer. The ball came to Andrew at about 2 foot of the deck and around 25 yards out he unleased the beast and hit a dipping volley which flew into the left hand corner of the net.

From what I've seen of the reserves this season it was'nt one of their best performances but they work hard as a unit and with Barron and Pratt forming a quality partnership up front they always look like out scoring the other teams.
