Leeds are gone for good??

Recommended Posts

Thank god Leeds have been relegated. I hate them hope they stay down in the lower leagues of English football. I just wished they waited till after Sunday before going into administration, so they got a ten point deduction at the start of next season.

They wouldn't have got the ten point deduction for next season if they had gone into administration next week, they would have got it had they gone into admin after a date in June, I don't know when that is.

It would be hilarious if they now won on Sunday 10-0 which would have been enough to keep them up but for the 10 point deduction.

Says on the little ticker tape message that they have been deducted 10 points & are down.

Just as well Mr Allen managed to keep Bates away from Sheff Wed !! Well done Dave !

A little off topic but I don't care !!

Derby 0-10 Leeds ?......hope you put a fiver on it H !!

Pretty common sense move by Bates...lose 10 points this season, when all is lost, rather than next season, when all to play for to get out of League 1

Cheers,

According to Five Live today, they had up to the final whistle after the Leeds game to lose the points this season. After that, the points are deducted from next season. Mind you, they have been known to be wrong before.. frown

Being a lifelong Leeds fan, have to disagree with Ruskie, altho I suspect that it's a popular outcome with the rest of football.

It was always on the cards as the Inland Revenue were about to wind the club up anyway.

Don't particularly like the Bates/Wise partnership but my real worry is that even if they do get some investment, who is going to want to play for them? Certainly won't be easy to attract decent players now. At least they will finish paying the likes of Venables.

The only way is up - I hope!

Cheers

It may have been me who is wrong as people are saying that Boston went into Administration minutes before the end of their match with Wrexham thus incurring the points deduction for this season when they are already relegated rather than next when they would have started in the Conference with minus ten points.

Although with Bostons case they have all sorts of worries, Steve Evens is said to be banned from managing in the Conference, rumours are that he is Chester bound. Will the conference allow them in? If not then they will have to apply for entry into the Unibond Premier. If they are allowed in they may even enter Liquidation and end it all. Whatever happens to Boston their fans were right when they sang to Daggers fans "We'll never play you again"...

Ah but have they finished paying for that fish tank? And what about Risdales Merc? All sorts of [****!!****] gets thrown at Ken Bates, a man that has never led a club into financial difficulties, only out of them. When he came along Leeds were in all sorts of trouble, you can't really blame him for that.

I haven't forgiven them for cheating their way to a win at Hillsborough this season !!

When are you getting the beers in then ?

Yes they will. Part of the deal for two up two down was that the Conference had to accept the clubs coming down, even if the grounds were not up to Conference standard on the number of sides etc.

I suspect the only thing that would keep them out was if they actually went bust.

Reading the papers this morning, the question of when the 10 points come off is not cut and dried, they could still start nect season on -10 points,
