Changing the subject

Recommended Posts

thought i change the subject as it's getting boring now.

You can call us whatever you want we are the same club and everything compare it with when a woman get's married she changes her surname but the person doesn't really change well apart from moaning more grin

To the main point:

Take it there isn't going to be a end of season party at Fleet Leisure this year, shame i think as i was well up for going after what has been a fleetastic season applause2

A good point Jimmy. The sponsors of individual players do seem to have been ignored by the Club and, might I say, poorly treated or even cheated. It comes across as if the Club are saying we have had your money so we need not do anything further for you regardless of what was represented at the time.

Having been able to see a copy of every away programme of games G&NFC have played in this season, I have often been impressed how quite a number of teams manage to get sponsors for every player, manager and support staff listed even for their away strip. It is a shame that our Club have been unable to even get near to acheiving this goal.

This may be because the sums asked elsewhere are more competitive? Or that the fans believe that they will get what they are paying for?

I expect Greg will have a tough time next season trying to get even as many individual sponsors as were obtained this season as a consequence of how the current batch have been so badly treated.

What's in a Name?

Sometimes quite a lot.

A woman does not legally have to change her surname to that of her husband on marriage. It is simply a traditional convention based upon gender.

But, what of the father who is separated or divorced from his wife and she is in another relationship and claims that their children want to be known by her new partner's surname instead of his? I can guarantee that the natural father's reaction would be one of outrage. In fact the wife in this example would not be allowed to change the children's surname without either the father giving consent or, in the absence of this, the court approving a change of name.

To an extent, football supporters have a family-like attachment to the club that they and their parents before them support. It is therefore perhaps unsurprising that supporters would also be protective of the name of "their" club and become outraged if it is to be changed.

I therefore think that it is a bit insensitive to be dismissive of those who do not agree with a name change. Being understanding would be a more sympathetic reaction.

What is your experience of being poorly treated or cheated as a player sponsor ? Having been a sponsor of players in the past, I always thought I was treated well, and certainly not cheated.

Hope we have an end of season bash ( although just maybe the parties concerned have had a little bit more on their mind recently than to sort one out ?)

Large beers all round !!

Well why didn't you say that in plain english instead of fannying about ?

Hopefully the players sponsors will receive their goody bags ( no jokes about Jade please !). Although, looking at the player sponsors, I doubt if Messrs, Felstead, Lindop & Holt D. would feel "cheated". Cannot speak/assume for other sponsors.

Looks like me & my friends will have to have an end of season p*ss up amongst ourselves. We'll have a beer for you !

Cheers,

The last time this idea was mooted on here (a couple of years ago), the thread, perversely (or perhaps aptly), degenerated into a slanging match!
