local elections

Ted, what has me droping leaflets got to do with the trusts decision to go against its members wishs of having a candidate stand in the local elections? From a practical point there are enough locals to cover a single ward.

The issue is that the Trust that claims to represent its members and be independant has gone against its members wishs and been influanced by an outside source!

Maybe those Board members that made this decision to withdraw Dominic would like to come on here and justify their actions prior to the trust elections so that trust members can see who actually listens to the members wishs, and those who go against the members wishs of the EGM?

I'll take that as a no.

Too many chiefs and not enough Indians. Everyone wants to be boss, but don't want to do the hard graft.

The decisions the board members make arn't easy, and maybe they don't always get it right, but the way to change things is to join, get involved and do things, and if appropriate, stand for election.

OK Ted the answer is NO I would not of been out leafleting.

However you are trying to dodge the issue in that the elected Board members did not follow the direction and instructions of the members to have a candidate stand in the local elections!

Therefore this calls into question the democratic and independent postion of the trust! The trust went against the wishs of its members through outside influence!

I notice the silence from the Board members on this issue - unlike the statements on this forum on the 8th April 2007 by two Board members, Chris Silski and Epicrebel as quoted above - what made them go against their previous stance and the wish of the members they represent?

Had you been at the meeting you would know that what the board sought was the view of the members as to what direction to go in. As part of the discussion there was general agreement that the board should make day to day decisions that needed to be made as they saw fit.

I was there, I am a trust member, and I don't have a problem with it. Difficult decisions had to be made, and were made, and I respect all those who made them. Had I been them, I might have done differently, but then again, I might not have.

Clive reading your notes above...

1) its got nothing to do with you ! simple and sweet your not a part of the board nor a member of the trust...our members at the recent EGM left it for the board to decide and after many of the board voted to enter a candidate , other matters came into play and each board members was contacted... to try and see if we could take another direction in regards to trying to do something different , Dominic was withdrawn... and Now this week Cllr Stokes has asked that this becomes an all party matter and meetings will now take place by all parties ...

I say this we have offerred an Olive Branch to all and now it will be up to them to keep the promises not us and to take the politics our of our problem..and work together...

Well put Chris, I'm tired of Staines Rebel agging on about trust stuff that concerns him but has nothing to do with him! Join the trust for God's sake, have your say, use your vote and stop whingeing and sniping.
