Are we burning out the youngsters...

Recommended Posts

...five games in 8 days, 6 in 10 for some. That`s been the load on some of the u18s. Playing for reserves then their own fixtures and still 5 u18 games to get in before 27th May.

What was a good side that played with flair and confidence is now struggling.

Losing against lowly Canterbury on Sunday 2-1 and a lucky draw (1-1) v near bottom Dover Wednesday, the side has now won just 2 out of the last 6. What, on paper, looked like an easy run-it for third place and a few games ago could have challenged for 2nd spot is now looking like an up hill struggle. Fortunately the 2 latest games were away and out of eyeshot from anyone with an interest in this side. Whilst it was important to assist the reserves in their promotion race the u18s surely now must be allowed to finish their season on the up, not fade down the table, unhappy with finger pointing.

At home Sunday to bottom placed Faversham. There are 4 home games on the trot and should also be at least 2 mid-week games. We should get behind them and show that their grulling efforts of late have been appreciated. It`s free!

Couldn't agree more DG - These U18's are quality players, and now that the reserves have gained promotion, let us finish our season on a high.

If only Luigi Scott would have released some of his U16's players, giving them an introduction to U18's football, whilst we were covering for reserves we may have got better results at Folkestone and Canterbury.

The likes of Caine, Ollie, Dan GB - this would be a good experience for these lads too.

Home to Faversham on Sunday 11 O'clock KO for those of us who want to get behind our team.

YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

Our home form has been excellent this season, keep it going to the last. Well done lads.

Agree there. Only lost 1 league game at home and that, I think, was because Tom/Phil had not seen some of the new lads play and did`nt know what they had, lost 1-2. It could have been a slightly different out come. 19 goals in the 6 home league games must be worth a look.

See you there.
