Reserves away to Sittingbourne

If nothing else, i hope that next season ,we get reserve reports-brief is fine on the official site and of course in the programme.

Hopefully, the same for the u18's.

Both sides deserve recognition, and surely it is motivational to them to see their name mentioned officially by the club.

Surely thats not too hard to do.

The fans reports are fantastic and so appreciated, but should really be complementing official reports-brief is fine- with the fans reports not being used as the sole source of info

IMO it should be mandatory for MW and the U18 manager to write about 10 lines of info for main site every week.

It would be so appreciated, and add further stimulus to the sides, a few more supporters for the reserves-every 10 helps, further success etc.

If Ramsgate can do it on their official site, surely so can Margate.

Final result Sittingbourne 2 Margate 4 (Barron 2 smith and A Weatherley)

Margate went 1 up on about 15 mins through a good piece of work by the ever impressive Paul Axon down the right flank cutting the ball back along the 6 yard line for Barron to run across the face of his marker and cooly finish low down to the keepers right.

Both teams battled hard but Margate were being caught far to easy in defence with the ball over the top, all 4 defenders Heath, Smith, Stokes and Harker were all guilty of lack of consentration and Sittingbourne soon leveled with some fine work by their no 9 (sorry no name)who impressed throughout making it 1-1 at half time. Soon after the restart MW changed it putting Dan Allen back from left mid field to his natural favoured position of left back and the defence looked more settled.

Pratt and Barron worked tirelessly closing the defence down really quickly this paid dividens when Axon picked up a defensive mistake and croossed to the far post for Smith to head in low bottom corner. The lead was short lived when Sittingbourne broke quickly and again there no9 finished at the far post.

The pitch was terrible making it hard to keep control and the brikkies defence was closed down quickly forcing a mistake, Axon picked up the loose ball and raced at the right back turning him inside out finally crossing for The in form Barron to lose his marker and once again finish with a curling drive to the keepers right.

Margates fourth goal was one to savour for two reasons

One because it was Andrew Weatherleys first goal of the season and two because it was a absolute screemer. The ball came to Andrew at about 2 foot of the deck and around 25 yards out he unleased the beast and hit a dipping volley which flew into the left hand corner of the net.

From what I've seen of the reserves this season it was'nt one of their best performances but they work hard as a unit and with Barron and Pratt forming a quality partnership up front they always look like out scoring the other teams.

I have heard nothing of the sort speaking to both at the game Saturday there was no indication from either sets of parents or players. I maybe missing something but both seem very happy with the Margate setup and MW.

IMO if their do go to Ebbsfleet utd it will take them a bit long to break into the squad so I see no point because they are both doing well at Margate.

If I find out anything from either parent I will let you know. I know Barrons parents read this so prehaps they would like to answer your questions.

This is probabley one of those stupid rumours put about to unsettle players its allways around this time at the end of a season people get bored and start spreading idle gossip.

I have just spoke to Barron and his dad and these suggestions and them leaving are as Wenger said absolute [****!!****].

I can't speak for Pratt although I believe he is in the same vain as Barron is as much they are very much enjoying playing at Margate and both want to stay and improvce to push for a first team place at Margate and no one else at this time,

TQA don't know where you heard the rumours but thats all they are I know both these lads and they are very much Margate through and through so if there's a chance they can play for them thats what they will strive to do.

Hope that answers your questions and please just draw a line under this and move on to more possitive things end off.

Nice report Tony, I know its not easy to make notes as well as watch the game so well done mate. On The Barron & Pratt rumour I too would be very surprised if they left Margate.

Yeah it is hard consentrating on the game whilst taking notes especially when I'm sitting behind you nattering. I don't take notes only mental notes so I've probabley got a few things wrong in the report.

I'll try and get something down for the report this Wednesday vs Hythe I think Dans back playing but if not I'll still go over.

Can't see the problem to be honest? TQA was only asking a question re: the club. Can't see that he is trying to stir trouble at all? Ok, maybe it was just an incorrect rumour, but no reason to hang him out to dry for it!
