with great pleasure i can announce that Hullbridge Sports have been awarded the ESL sportsmanship shield 2006-07.I hope our League chairman can officially confirm this.It was between us and league winners Brentwood town that had a player sent off in the last game vs romford.Over the years clubs like billericay town(1976)brightlinsea(1990)GWR(1995)saffron walden town(2000)brentwood(2001) won the nice shield and they were successful teams.Hullbridge won it 3 times on the trot in 1992-93-94 and with Brentwood town is now the club that won it more times(4).It is a great achievement and reward for our club:we are proud of this and shows how important is to instill discipline in your players and respect towards the officials, even if decisions go against you(we had quite a few to be honest :))we must get on with it,like i learned over 14 years in football in this country.I also hope the clubs that visited our ground this year, noticed all the efforts our club officials have made to make Lower Road a nice ground to visit.A big applause to Beryl,Maureen,Terry,Colin,Robin and even our groundsman Alan for their efforts. applause2I would also like to thank a person whose work goes unnoticed to the majority of people but not to an hullbridge lodger like myself:i call this man the "invisible hand",well done mr chittock applause

Well done Sir. It is an extra special achievment when you consider the Manager's temperamental latin background.

The reason your players are well behaved might be because they don't like to swear in front of Jack ..... incase the Child Protection people have something to say about it.

Seriously though....... well done, your club are a credit to the league and it proves that Hockley and the surrounding areas have a bit of class and culture sadly lacking in many other parts of Essex.

Cannot be ar$ed to Google, but I am sure there was 14-year-old who played for Worcester in the FA Cup many moons ago...Anyway, that's a bit rich coming from someone who would struggle to get past the height restrictions on many of the rides at Thorpe Park... grin

Hi Smallsy!!
