St Albans may be the new 'Mayfair' on the new Monopoly board but the worrying thing is the club are well and truly 'Old Kent Road' when it comes to the league table.

A spokesman for Liverpool council complimented St Albans on its victory, with an overwhelming 10.25% of the 1,001,024 votes. But he added waspishly: "I suppose you can spend a lot of time on this sort of thing in a place where nothing much else is going on. This gameboard doesn't reflect real life.

Maybe it used to be. St. Peters Street is more akin to Eastern European Boulevard these days.
