Brook House are no longer!!!

Recommended Posts

As I thoguht, Brook house WERE a pub side!

"...The switch was apporved by the Middlesex FA five weeks ago. The club was formed in 1975 after Charville and Hayes North folded, by representatives of both clubs who enjoyed a drink in the Brook House pub on Kingshill Avenue. They initially started in Sunday football... (the general secretary Vic Kirby)...'Yes we are a pub team in that we originally played Sunday League football as the Brook House pub and we are proud of our roots. But it's been mentioned by leagues in recent years that we should have a name that reflects the area we are from. We also felt we can get a higher profile in the area and therefore stand a better chance of getting sponsorship in the area and it may also help the management team to perhaps draw a better quality player. We play our football in Hayes, a lot of people involved in the club were born in Hayes and we're proud of it, so let's have Hayes in our title. There is obviously already a Hayes and there is a Hayes United and Hayes Rangers in junior and youth football and we were finding it very difficult to find something different until someone suggested AFC Hayes.'..."

But isnt the area where the ground is located called Brook House, the parade of shops are named Brook House etc

The area is known as Kingshill/ North Hayes

The only thing known as Brookhouse is the pub very near the ground.

Big rumours about Hayes FC matbe moving in/ground share or something like that as they have sold their ground supose to be making anouncement next week.

Hayes sold their ground? shame, it was a big old ground, but I guess Hayes relegation back to the Ishtmain Prem may have something to do with it. I guess they did not own their ground, worrying times, for non league clubs

LOL that would be a good name. On the TK site people are saying that the new fad of calling teams AFC.... is rather boring and cant they come up with somethin a bit more imgaintive. I agree, someone suggested Hayes Boro for Brook House which sound a lot better then AFC Hayes!

.

You can just imagine their board sitting around thinking up names, and then someone saying "I know,h how about AFC Hayes" hardly a eureka moment!! As I said if they wanted a name that included Hayes but was different to what was already out there, then why not Hayes Borough FC, sounds a lot better if you ask me.

  • 2 weeks later...

Can anyone confirm whether Hayes have earned a reprieve and will not now be relegated albeit due to a merger with Yeading, it sounds unlikely somehow:

Hayes were saved from relegation as Farnborough were relegated to Step 4 due to going bust. Hayes then merged with Yeading to create Hayes & Yeading which meant a reprieve for someone else as well I believe.

Sorry I'm sure but there has been a lot of mention of the Hayes situation on this thread so I thought it was the most appropriate thread, where would you have posted it then out of interest.
