Gravesend and Northfleet best moments

Recommended Posts

I would add the following to CG's list:-

Carlisle United (FA Cup 1962-63)

Exeter City (FA Cup 1962-63)

Weymouth (Southern League Cup Final 1978)

Barrow (5-1 win first home game in the Alliance Premier League)

Amongst the worst moments :-

Any game against Barry Town (usually meant that the 'Fleet had finished bottom)

The 'Fleet 2 Dover 8 (Southern League Premier Division)

03/05/97. The last game in the Dr. Martens League. Away to Kings Lynn, we lost 1-5, Micky Munday scored the goal,we ended up 14th of 22.

Why was this a best moment?

The fans that travelled on the supporters club coach.

We had our photo taken outside the ground(I still have it),there was no bickering, and we were looking forward to a new season and a new adventure, in the Ryman League. It is quite eerie on a similar date(01/05/07), ten years later, the Club are entering another new adventure!

For me , the home game v Canvey. It was at that point that I new that the fleet was for me. As a previous fair weather supporter , I bacame addicted in one game.

Worst moment

There arent any. We have bad games but I forget them easy and move on. Though any pooor performance followed by a drive of four hours are among the worst.
