Living in Old Windsor i dont have a say sadly, disappointed though that the only time the club appears on tv is the spearhead political gain.

On the other hand, the publicity cant be all bad.

A commitment like that makes it much more difficult to avoid should they be elected. The other parties have made no commitment yet. As for other policies generally, I guess you'll have to read the literature.

It was on last night's news unfortunately I missed it and real player does not work in my office either.

Tom, I think a local election is generally seen as an opportunity to give the government of the time a good kicking. People vote on national issues and tend not to consider the detriment to local politics. In Slough there is no natural opposition to the Labour group and with the options on the ballot papers all likelihood is that we will remain with a rainbow coalition in control of the council.

For Martin and anyone else who's struggling with Real Player this morning...

go to BBC London and put Labour's fight for Slough in the search box in the top right - the audio and visual box shows the clip on the right hand side of the results...

Otherwise you could try inputting this direct link:

http://search.bbc.co.uk/cgi-bin/search/results.pl?tab=av&q=labour's%20fight%20for%20slough&recipe=all&scope=all&edition=

and you can use the BBC's website to support the software... not a bad piece I must say.

too many short memories about national issues ! The media have done a hatchet job for labout this time round....how people forget quickly ...

last time the cons were in my mortgague was over 400 pounds and the school my wife was working in was falling to pieces and to go to the the A & E department ..you would wait upto 6 hours ... these days the mortgague is down to half what it was and the school is breath of fresh air for my son...all this with walk in centres...things have improved ...sad that most people forget so quickly the dispair and gloom that we were left with the last time the conservatives were in power..now you want to put a toffy nose oik in control.. Mr C is a Oxford toff who trampels over people to get his way..

in slough they are using the Billd and colalition to have some power but you watch them drop them if they get enough seats to run the council..
