Dave Anderson leaves

Dave Anderson has left the club today.

Chairman Erik Samuelson said “after yesterday’s game, Dave and the board sat down and had a conversation where we all agreed that it is beneficial for everyone to make a change; that means, of course, that Dave will be leaving.

“Dave has done a tremendous job for us at AFC Wimbledon where he has introduced a thoroughly professional approach throughout the club and improved it from top to bottom. In his three years here, he has taken us to a championship, won the Surrey Senior Cup and taken us to another final, plus two play-offs. However, after long, hard thought, we’ve reluctantly concluded that it is time for a change. The board thank Dave and his team for all their hard work over the last three years.”

Dave Anderson said “It’s been an absolute pleasure to manage AFC Wimbledon. I’ve enjoyed the ups and even the downs. I’ve worked closely for two chairmen and got on very well with them. I think the club is in very good hands.

"Looking back, I am satisfied that I am leaving a much better club than I joined. Last night the fans’ support was fantastic, and I want to thank them very much for all my time here. I wish the club every success in future except when I play the Dons again! Finally, I want to thank my staff, players and everyone else around the club who have helped me over the last three years.”

Assistant manager Jon Turner and first team coach Warren Kelly are also leaving today.

ha ha....must have been very democratic and well thought out after a tense emotional play off tie.....more knee jerk I would say....democracy is alive and well and squatting in kingston it seems... grin
