Edgware win Double

Edgware won the Premier Division Cup beating Oxhey Jets

1 -0 at Harefield United's Preston Park ground last night. Not the best of performances we have seen from the team so far this season and a far more determined Jets side than that beaten

6 - 1 at the White Lion at the beginning of April.

Stuart Blackburne scored after Mark Buchanan's defence splitting pass found him on the edge of the area and the lithe striker raked the ball past Kevin Paul in the Jets goal 3 minutes into the second period of extra time.

Although both keepers made some excellent saves Darren Bonfield was 'Man of the Match' keeping the Wares in the game with some outstanding saves.

Johnny Moore also gets a special mention as he bossed the midfield and battled for the full 2 hours of the game never giving up on a loose ball or crunching tackle. However,as Steve Newing said after the game "It's all about winning"

Gavin is a bit quiet on here today, maybe the Harefield fans have kidnapped him after he bombarded their website with abuse!!

LOL what Harefield fans? there were none at the match, there were howver some very loud Oxhey fans, who we had some good banter with.

 

As Oracle said not the best of performances by the champions against a much better Oxhey side, but we got the win and the cup and thats all that matters.

 

Now bring on the treble next week!

nah didnt do that one...as if it wasnt bad enough being injured for the last few weeks and having to watch...its even worse now that the games are all over too !...just know i gunna get dragged to the shops 2morrow !
