There are no adequate words to descride the effort and detirmination the whole team put in this evening. My ghast is flabbered!!!

 

And the irony of tonight is that we beat them on penalties this evening...with the amount they have won all through the season!!! grin

 

Fantastic performance from both players and supporters...Man of the match...the whole bloody team!!!

 

a postscript here...was listening to BBC Essex sport on the way home and did the result get a mention?..did it [****!!****]!!!

Tremendous performance tonight, really proud of everyone concerned.

 

First half pretty tight - we had an effort cleared off the line, Billy made 2 top saves late in the half to keep them out, but there wasn't much in it.

 

2nd half Burbs off, slightly harsh in my opinion - but we went on the attack and Dorms hit the bar, Flackie couldn't get the rebound past the keeper. Chelmsford upped the pressure, and finally got the breakthrough, but we threw on Swaine up front and it paid dividends when we won a fk, high into the box, Swaine caused mayhem and I think Whelps got the goal.

 

Extra time we've run ourselves into the ground, Dorms and Leon could hardly move by the end.

 

Penalties,Leon scored first then Billy saved from Boylan. They've scored their remaining 3, but Flack, Whelps, Blewitt and Dorms made sure we got through.

What a fantastic night. I just hope I get my voice back in time for Saturday. A lot of hero's in white shirts out there tonight who worked hard when a man down, never gave up on an equalizer and looked so confident in the shoot out.

 

A very special team performance from a very special team.

 

Well done and thanks to the Chelmo guys who've come on here and congratulated us.

 

And well done to Matt Jones and all the management & coaching staff who've got us this far.

 

But most of all WELL DONE BILLY excited excited excited

I thought that the performance at Heybridge with 10 men was good, but this was awesome. A couple of top saves from McMahon in the first half and with a man down they ran themselves into the ground. A fantastic performance. I bet they'll be glad of the extra day's rest ahead of Saturday now!

I always set my stopwatch at KO. The fourth official showed a board for three mins added time and when I looked at my watch after the goal went in it said 47:50 !!! But PLEASE does anyone know yet who actually scored it ?!

 

Magnificent performance - what else can you say ? Did I really see us play an hour and fifteen mins with ten men, come back from 1-0 down at gone 80 mins, equalize deep in stoppage time and then hold on for a penalty shoot-out in which we scored five out of five ? Surely it must be a dream, reality just isn't that good ...

still cant believe what i saw last night!!

We seemed to get nothing from the ref last night, starting with Minton's two footed studs up tackle early on but i think the ref got it right with Burbs. His foul for the 2nd yellow made it an easy call for the ref.

I think Heffer was immense last night, especially as he too picked up an early yellow. Having said that, the whole team were amazing. That was probably the most nerve racking game i have ever watched! As soon as we got to pens, i felt with Billy in goal we had a great chance, but a mention has to go to our penalty takers. You wont see 5 better pens, and i dont think their keeper came close to any of them.

Well done to all the lads and staff, truly amazing.

yh smallys billy did gift them a goal but i think he made up for it buy saying a penalty from a player who is on £1200 a week, and also mate some of the saves he pulled off through the nite we top class.

 

sayin that though it does only take another spill like that and we be sufferin the pain of goin out of the play-offs.

 

come on you blues!!! the fight and commitement tonite dersrve the reward we maybe able to get saturday and yet another tough day. so lets keep our feet on the ground if we can till saturday and get bhinds the lads even more, becuase we all know that the atmosphere can be created at either new lodge or bromely, where ever we travel will think billericay!!!!!!

Obviously I'm absloutely gutted about last night, but its not like England matches where we always get knocked out because of a dubious handball or a dubious sending off before crashing out on pens.

 

We worked hard last night which is something we haven't done in some games this season, but on this occassion you just have to hold your hands up and say the best team won.

 

So no compalints from me and good luck in the final smile

 

P.S. Thought the atmosphere was immense smile
