a good achievement for little bowers. although yesterdays "essex senior league" match was a bit of a shambles. obviously we needed 3 points to confirm 4th barring goal difference technicalities. we arrived at stansted at 130pm only to see the stansted reserve side playing concord. i was amazed they would play a game on the pitch before an ESL game but not only that they were only blowing up for half time. so we got changed at the nearby cricket pavilion as the reserve game did not finish until 230 and we were kicking off at 3!!!!!! the game was just a chaz up really with no real tempo although we tried our best to make life difficult. stansted nice club with nice people hopefully they will perform better next season. does make me wonder though how some teams cannot get into the league because of "regulations" but this sort of thing can happen.

as long as the pitches are okay, then it is a good idea to double up like that. Reserve people will hang on too, plus saves on costs I would imagine. Spoke to Blanchy after the game, but cannot remember how he said you played...

I don't know how they keep going. First team and ressies have come bottom of their respective leagues two seasons on the trot!!!

 

Also, their match officials expenses are the dearest in the league, they have to fork out an average of £130 per home game due the distance the officials have to travel.

 

Nice lttle clubhouse though.
