Who stays and who goes?

MFC Forever, the reserves and u18s have been a massive plus this year. There's a few in the u18s especially that I would like to see make the step up as I think they have the class to make it.

Me saying that Proths is past it is not slagging a player off it is what i think. It is what is called a personal OPINION. If i am wrong then if Protheroe is a the club next season he can prove that, but lately he has not been playing at his best he hasn't been terrible, but he hasn't been as good as what he has been before.

That could be because he is coming to the end of his career, he is playing injured or he is not happy.

p.s if you can find me a post where i have slagged a player off let me know

I know what you mean, but it is known with most players as they get above the age of about 32 their ability starts to decline. Look at Beckham.

Margate Fan comes across as very sly dunno if anyone else feels the same. We're all in this together each to their own n all that but bigtw just because your son has not been praised you dont need to start snapping at everyone. Enjoy your trips to Southwood this year did ya?

Its got f-ck all about being praised its about giving him a chance and all the other coming through if you read my post at the start of all this you will realise its about all the local young lads getting a chance. Put yourself in the shoes of some of these reserves and u18s and look at the situation over this season would you think you've got much chance with Margate.

yes i've enjoyed my trips to southwood its nice to see local lads getting a go. Also I coach a team there so yes I've enjoyed some good games there this year. I like watching good young players fight for everything as if it going to be taken away tomorrow. I also like to see some old players I used to coach many years ago playing with passion and pride.

Just read through this thread, yep I`m that sad. Reckon if you pay your money you have some right to voice an opinion, just a question of how it`s done. Personally, I don`t thing the player worry too much about a few fans sharing their views, perhaps the youngsters but by the time they reach first team football it`s water off a ducks back and that`s if they read this stuff. Don`t think they are quite as sad as me at least.

Heres to next season and perhaps some new blood and passion.

I think opinion is in the eye of the writer?

Clearly a forum is designed to project a personal view of a topic or situation, however I would agree with BigTW & Taffy we should try to be positive.

As far as keeping players or letting players go as I said before, and Porka please take note, any decision must be based on a fair appraisal of the player, this must be and I am sure you will agree over a reasonable period of playing time.

You indicated that Whisker (IN YOUR OPINOIN) of course is not a Ryman player based on what you have seen, now be honest and based on the above, would you say your opinion is based on a fair appraisal of his play and ability?

The same would and should go for any player, and I am confidant that if the players are in this week any decisions by the management will reflect this.

Looking forward to the reserves game have been told that Barron and Pratt are both fit I do hope the side is not totaly filled with first team players though, I would like to see the youngsters allowed t finish their season uninterrupted.

Well not that surprised Taffy not very intelligent, they have done well to be fair but the difference is their reserves are not at the same point as ours! they do have some good people over there I went to a meeting recently to discuss the U13 for next year and was impressed with the overview and their planning.

We should make a point of doing the same thing and planning from the earliest point we can, I also believe that Carl Barrons dad works for Ramsgate (Youth Development) I think or eighteens manager not sure what it is, and to be honest not really relevant just twittering on now.

It is asking a lot for youngsters who have been playing in Kent League Division Two to make the step up to the first team. As someone suggested earlier, loaning them out to get experience is a good idea.

It does not matter to me if a player is local or not, what matters is how good they are (unless we want to change our name to Royston Vasey FC - 'a local club for local people!')

Well with the news item on our main page, Trotty has got a reduced players budget for next season so some youngsters must surely be in the frame? Plus the new drainage is not being sorted for the time being, just hope it doesn't cost us like it did this season!
