By all means change Stonebridge Road to the Acme Stadium, which would be worthwhile financially, but leave G & N alone.

It may be a tinpot name, and others may see us as a tinpot club playing at a tinshed ground, but it is OURS, and we are bloody proud of the name!!!

Perhaps we wont be getting a new ground after all - perhaps theres someone out there offering to buy into the club and to purchase Stonebridge Road for us to improve & modernise??

Although I assume that was a joke, to put the record straight GLS sell only agricultural land. None of the land in their portfolio is likely to achieve planning permission. Also when I last checked they had no land for sale in Kent.

If it does have to come to a vote, on a simple majority of all existing shareholders, two particular directors supporting a change of name could, by combining their shares, I believe, outvote all other shareholders opposing a change of name.

 

If this were ever to happen the reference to a Consultation would be token in the extreme.

 

The directors claim to be supporters. Let them put their supporters hats on for this issue if it does actually come to light at the meeting.

AFAIK there is no need for the company name to have same name as club name - some publicly quoted clubs already operate this way.

The other possibility not yet considered by us is a gate price increase? That would fall into the consultation area.
