All league clubs are holding a minute's applause. Would this be more appropriate?

We have had a disscussion with the Directors and Staff and have agreed on the silence. I think both are appropiate for a great Footballer 'RIP'

I have no strong views on the matter but will say this...at big prem/well supported clubs the minutes applause works well but having experienced it at our ground and other non league grounds I am not so sure...it lacks something when the applause inevitably fades after a few seconds...

 

the silent tribute gives time for reflection on the departed ones life and deeds....on balance I think for us urchins the right decision is the minutes silence...

agree unc. at premier level, the applause also covers up the twats who don't see fit to show a bit of respect.

On reflection I think I agree with Unc and tree, although I do feel the applause is more a celebration of a life.

The applause worked well at the hammers when Bestie went, but have to say, I prefer the silence.... it seems more fitting.
