Lordswood U16's Vs Margate U16's

With the second evening game in a row, a tired Margate side travelled to Lordswood to try and secure a vital 3 points. Margate arrived at Lordswood stadium knowing that they would have to play extremely well, with an awful surface.

The sides kicked off and it was a pretty dull first half with possession rather even. Lordswood's only clear chance was a well struke half volley which lamprell brilliantly tipped over the cross bar. But with very few clear cut chances, the half time whistle blew.

Half time 0-0

Margate started the second half off with a firey pace about them, and immediately taylor was put through with a great chance to break the deadlock, but unfortunately powered his shot over the crossbar.

Lordswood looked dangerous in the air with tall lads, but the gate defence withstood the pressure.

On numerous occasions margate forwards were harshly ruled offside with baker, lovell and gray feeding balls through.

Just as the game looked to be ending as a draw, with two mintues remaining, a lack of concentration in defence allowed a Lordswood player to volley in at the near post at point blank range from a corner.

Margate's heads went down and were so disappointed and harshly Lordswood scored a second with literally a few seconds remaining.

Full time blew with luigi scott's boys extremely disappointed as they know they've under achieved this year.

Next game: 29/4/07 Deal Town (home) @ Hartsdown Park 11.00am
