Two choices.....

 

Life decisions that people have to make are never simple.

The importance of the initial decision should always be examined over the long run.

 

Consider the following two choices...

 

Should I get a dog...

 

...or should I have children?

Andrew - true story.

I have had my dog 15 months now a little Parson Jack Russell. So far he has cost me almost £3000 in damage to the home.

He has been smacked, shouted at, locked out in the garage and ignored but, he is still pleased to see me and still shows his affection.

He has been good for about 6 months now and I wouldnt be without him. His destructive days are over.

Children on the other hand - I hate them!! Sterilised many years ago. Best days work I ever done

We all have a choice and that is mine. I dont have any maternal instincts at all (think there must be something missing in my genetic make-up)

Life choices are so hard. Hardly a choice half the time. Just doing as expected and not as wanted and by the time you've worked it out it's too late!

 

When you have kids they become the most important thing in your life. You'd literally kill for them. Then they become teenagers and you'd literally kill them!

 

My dog loves me and i love my dog and i get no back chat and 100% gratitude

Had our two kids. Now have Four Grand-Children.

 

Own three cats.

 

I do basic dog training for other people.

Like you JR, I have had room in my life for both. I respect peoples choice not to have kids if they don't want them. Far better to not have kids, than to have them and then regret it, and make your own, and their lives totally miserable!

My daughter's only words are 'bow wow' and 'woof moo' (some kind of hybrid dog-cow, I'm assuming), so I don't notice any difference.
