Smallsy - Maldon?

Smallsy you seem to know people at Maldon so can you shed any light on their current situation.

 

From what i hear the manager has left to take over at Tiptree and one of our ex-players Ollie Berquez is going to Maldon as player/coach.

 

It seems very strange for the manager to leave at this stage of the season.

no he hasnt left but i have heard he is taking tiptree job. yes it does look like ollie berquez will be involved but that could be as assistant to russell tanner who is currently assistant to colin. it is all up in the air at the moment as to what will happen next season and none of the players really know whats going on. im sure colin will be in charge at potters bar saturday but as the non league paper confirmed yesterday they will not be able to compete in playoffs.

Cheers mate, can`t really see why Berquez is going there unless he`s been offered plenty of cash, Conference to Ryman 1 doesn`t make sense.

Yes i had heard that but it still doesn`t add up, i don`t think he has reached 30 yet so surley he would want to keep playing at a high standard.

 

Personally i don`t think Berquez would be there unless the money was right and there were big plans at Maldon.

What has happened to the Tiptree manager? I know he also works for Colchester United in the centre of excellence.

Still at Col U I believe, does their Under 14's Im sure.

i heard he got offered the aveley job but is going to take the tiptree job lol i know wallingotn is leaving maldon but im sure he will still be there for the last game.

 

jody brown the tiptree manager was offered the halstead job, said he wants to finish season with tiptree, but then tiptree sacked him. so he went to halstead. the tiptree message board makes a great read for anyone who is interested. all sorts going on there.

 

i dont think maldon will be looking to progress as a club as they didnt apply for promotion and have sold their ground. who fcking knows what is going on?

I was just about to post about the Tiptree messageboard it`s been shutdown because the exmanager was posting his side of events.

If Maldon are not looking to progress why the hell have they gone for Berquez? Something is going to happen there but will it be under the Maldon or Heybridge name?

Proper tear up in Tiptree...as for Maldon, I know that they had a few problems soon after they moved in to their 'new' ground back in '94 but didn't realise they had sold it. Presume it is now on a lease-back thingy.

Oh well Maldon and Tiptree for the ESL next season then..

Wouldn't matter if it was four or 184, Burnham's end-of-season party will still be in the middle of March...

Not sure if it`s all gone through yet but Maldon are selling their ground to Heybridge
