10 (ten) walkers

In a long line of intrepid ventures Wealdstone FC supporters plan to walk to their away match on 29 March at Oxford City in their continued quest to raise funds for their "holy grail" of a new stadium at Prince Edward Playing Fields which starts construction later in the year.

 

However they will not be starting from their base in Harrow but walking the Oxford Canal towpath from near Daventry on the 23rd March to Oxford. A distance of 70 odd miles, whilst staying in a narrow boat overnight.

 

The walkers are Trevor Davies, Adam Hills, Tony Short, Steve Paull, Roger Slater, Ray Kemp, Doug Robinson, Fingers Fruin, Grim and from Bishops Stortford FC, Jon Smith.

 

They have already gratefully received sponsorship for half the cost of the canal boat from Icis Clubwear and free delivery of the boat from College Cruisers.

It could be fun GHA, but I'm not sure that I want to raise funds for Wealdstone F.C., however laudable is the cause.
