Play-off dates...

...should we manage to get there of course, and should we get to play away at Chelmo, does anyone know what day the game will be on?

I've heard before the season started, that Chelmo declared themselves champions and didn't bother booking the pitch, now they're in a bit of bother.

2nd at home versus 5th.

3rd at home versus 4th.

One on Tuesday & one on Wednesday, but not sure which way 'round.

My third hand understanding is that:

If Chelmsford are at home and we play them it will be on the Monday.

If we are involved in any other play-off game home or away it will be Tuesday.

The play-off final will be on the following Saturday except if we have to travel to Chelmsford when it will be on Friday night.

I think that's the case but don't take it as gospel. There's the small matter of the result against Leyton first though.

The published dates for the Play-offs at the start of the season were the Tuesday & Wednesday for the Semis and the Saturday for the Final.

If Chelmo can't make those dates 'coz they don't have control over their own pitch I think they should be excluded wink

BC. It was tounge in cheek, but on a serious note do you think a Friday night final @ MP would detract from the likely gate as opposed to the Saturday?

Yes. I think we should drop the subject grin

I think that strengthens the home advantage. Why should any team visting MP have to miss out on a planned rest day? Perhaps Chelmo should be forced to find an alternative ground available on the programmed date, or lose the home advantage.

But we're not in that situation yet smile

We have, for weeks, kept the Tuesday, Wed and Saturday free. I am amazed that my self-employed wife may have to completely rebook an evening's appointments or potentially miss the semi-final match. Shouldn't home advantage be forfeited in such a case? This is nothing personal against Chelmsford. I'm sure many of their fans would be equally put out!

The Shoddybox is now saying that the Monday and Friday dates are not confirmed. Chelmo have traditionally played Monday nights, but the League have stated that the semi-final's will be played on the Tuesday or Wednesday with the final on Saturday. I think Chelmo need to clarify for all concerned just in case.

Maybe Chelmsford have not confirmed the Monday and Friday nights because at this moment in time nobody knows who will be playing who or where (if Chelmsford lose in the semi-final of course, the day of the final won't be an issue for them anyway). If however, Chelmsford are at home to Billericay on either the Monday or Friday and you can't make it, my guess is the game will go ahead anyway.
