Despite today - possibilities STILL

Yes,we can still get that 4th spot. Admittedly the odds are stacked against us & some may say that we have had so many chances to have sealed the spot that we don't really deserve to be there anyway.

But we ARE still in there with the possibility of winning through.

Billericay at home to Leyton.

Should(on paper, arrrh, that bit of paper eh) win the game with ease.)However Leyton,on their day can produce the goods & it depends if they will be up to trying to stop Billericay from going through or not.Its a possible defeat for Ricay, only a possible defeat, but nevertheless a possibility. Our GD is better than theirs too remember.

AFC away at East Thurrock.

Again another let off today for us,another chance to go through thanks to both AFC & Swifts.

They could also falter at the last hurdle. East Thurrock, another in & out side(a bit like us).

Nothings impossible with those two games.

BUT BUT BUT we MUST win our last game for those possibilities to come about.

I reckon we would have had to win both games anyway so nothings really changed that much except to add that Billericay are now ALSO in the pot for 4th spot.

Its still all to play for but we need that different approach by our players to the game, unlike today & a different attitude.

If we get those things right(against an improved Hendon side,on their soil)then we still have a POSSIBLE chance of getting through.

It never should have got this far, but we all thought it would go down to the wire & so it has turned out that way.

One more BIG effort needed next week & who knows what might happen elsewhere.

IF,IF,IF,IF we can win at Hendon then an AFC Wimbledon loss or draw will put us through.

IF,IF,IF,IF we can win at Hendon then a Billericay loss would also put us through on GD.

Either of the above is still a "live" possibility.

Neither of them are over that finishing line just yet & we still have it all to play for!

It's amazing that we didn't win the league given where we were in January. And yet it's also amazing that we're still in with a shout at the play-offs! It's a funny old game.

To right Steve. A win at Slough.A win today & a win when leading comfortably at home to Staines only for the team to go missing in the changing rooms at half-time & lose & we would be sitting pretty at the TOP of the league right now.It truly IS amazing after all the chances we have been given, only to scupper them ourselves that we are still in there with a shout.

Is that 4th spot meant to be ours I ask....................... but only on the last day!

Its not one game Sanderson it is quite a few games. Harrow away being another where we were 3-1 up at half-time and were well in control only to draw 4-4 thanks to a Danny Hockton penalty on the last minute. East Thurrock at home, Ashford home and away, Billericay away, Tonbridge home, Horsham home and Carshalton away are other games where we have dropped points which we should not have done.

Just proves that there is no easy games in football. I thought we learnt that against Pottars Bar in the FA Cup.

It is??? It very well might end up being, but I suspect it won't to be honest. There's no sign of everything going through over the summer yet.

Incidentally, we lost our last "last game at Claremont Road" to AFC last year for them to clinch their playoff spot IIRC.

Ha Ha, Rob you are the sadest person i have ever met in my life. You are so embarrassed of your own life that you try and embarrass others.

Your posts are getting pathetic and i can't believe that you are so obsessed with me. Why are you obsessed with me Rob?

We were rubbish then, we're a bit less rubbish now. And we owe Margate one for relegating us last season.

Saturday's game is not being advertised as the last ever game at Claremont Road. Last year's also wasn't advertised as the last ever game - not by the club anyway. The local press decided it would be.

Just one goal will do TQA without reply.Thens its all down to East Thurrock to help us out by either winning the game v AFC or shutting them out.1-0 will do for me & then just hope results go our way. Gonna be a big ask for ALL to come together on the day but we are still in there with that possibility.
