No match Day programme for the Chelmesford match

Slough will not have any programmes for the game ! A [****!!****] up at the printers - our programme editor had e mailed the articles to the printers on Thursday , but at 4pm friday they had not received the e mail ..and the editor is now 300 miles away and we can not get them back...to re send the items as they are on his works computer !

 

So Limited Team sheets will be available tomorrow on first come first get bases....(no charge)

1) Are these the same printers we use for printing the programme for every home game?

 

2) Do they receive the articles on the same day before every home game?

 

3) If so, why didn't someone from the printers contact someone from the club when nothing was received?

 

After all they are a business are'nt they? and they do earn money from printing our programmes?

Ted, I don't quite follow your answer to question 1.

 

Let me put it another way:

 

For every home game we have are the programmes printed by the same company?

Last year at the last game of the season there wasn't even a bar open, it is probably better to do that as the Chelmo drunks are prone to misbehave when they get beaten. Good Luck for your last win this season!

RR, my point is that we don't have programmes printed for every home game, as a lot of the games were postponed and we use the original programme. The printers might well not have been surprised when they received nothing for this match.

Reading Rebel... come on lets be fair...

 

Even the chelmsford city secretary addmitted things dont always go right...and they too missed out this season on a couple of programmes because of unforseen problems..

 

The editor Glen collates all the items sent in by many individuals and puts them good for them then to be sent to the printers...he said he did this on thursday by e mail..he left then to go away for the week end to Scotland...at 4pm on friday the normal time that the printer go to press for our programme informed the club that the e mail was not received !

 

Glen was contacted and he can not gain access to his computer as the information was on his works computer ! so they was nothing anyone could do !

 

Let me remind you that everyone who helps on the programme does it in they own time and glen gives his all for the programme..

i agree with that...why not have a slightly bigger programme for the last game of the season with the extra articles from saturday in?

The Staines programme is the old one from the match that was postponed a few weeks back.

When Glen sends the programme notes to the printers, we should also get hime to copy in other people, including the Programmes@ email address. That way, if find ourselves in this situation again, someone will have a copy to send to the printers.

 

These CC's can then delete the email after the corresponding match.

Lets put the record right because having read these posts Im well pxxxxd off.

 

We (the Printers) did not fxxk xx. NO FILE WAS RECEIVED FROM GLEN.

 

Despite asking for the programme earlier for matches we usually get the file around mid day on Friday which is already pushing it to get the programme ready for 4pm on a Friday afternoon. As we had not received the programme by mid day we called both Roy and Kevin to find out if there was a problem - how are we expected to know that Glen was going on holiday, he doesn't share his personal arrangements with us! We even offered to work Saturday morning to get the programme printed for them even though we don't open on a Saturday but they could not get anyone to do the artwork at such short notice. We then sorted out a team sheet for them and stayed late to get it printed.

 

And, just in case anyone is interested its now 12.45on Tuesday and we still have nothing for tonights programme against Staines. Again this is not our fault, we just print the files supplied.
