gnfc vs northwhich behind the goal trouble

Recommended Posts

when the northwhich fans came over at half time it started as a bit of banter fair play to the northwhich fans sitting right near me then some of our fans take it step to far going over to a young northwhich fan in particular threatening to beat him up going right up to his face taunting him it was disgraceful to see they were youngsters. then a couple of older blokes started goin over to the northwhich fans and telling them they were gunna get it outside this and that was rele sad to see this blokes double my age. the stewards act like they cant be botherd as usual. shame about a handfall who ruin it and made us look bad. what's everyone elses views on this??

i was standing near the group, fair enough give a little bit of banter cos at the end of the day "we shake hands on it". But doing that to the northwich kids was bang out of order. The game should have been segregated in the first place, so shuld every match, if not semi-segregated at least.

If true and if the perpetrators can be identified , they should get banned from the ground.

Its not nice receiving abuse from supporters when away from home as received by us at Weymouth in particular this season.

The Northwich officials and stewards were polite and informative during both our visits there yet a couple of morons show us up when they come to us.

just not nice to see a group of fans like northwhich having people going up to there face making threats. i felt rele sorry for the guys and i know if any of those herberts had gone at them in a physical manner i would of tried to intervene cause i know the stewards wouldnt of. no wonder why those northwhich fans went right into the seating area and they didnt say a word probably because they felt threatened.

Good to read the comments of the normal decent Gravesend fans. As one of the Vics fans there last night, I appreciate your sentiments.

At half time, we swapped ends and at first it seemed that the two sets of "singers" were going to enjoy themselves, and have some friendly banter. it soon became obvious that there were some more "sinister" elements amongst them. We decided to withdraw to more amenable surroundings, as it appeared the stewards were content to watch rather than act. To give them their due, they did arrange safe escort to our minivan and cars after the match which was appreciated.

Anyway, as to the match, well done on your victory, think the number of matches is taking its toll on our players now, only 4 games to play now in 7 days starting Sat !!!

Good luck for the last two games

If the club is aware of it, but more than likely not, it would be nice if someone apologised to there club, Bullying of any sort should not be tolerated. Is ok to slag of the stewards if you feel that way Inclined,As long as you can say hand on heart that they were aware of what was going on as far as the bullying.

Why should games have to be segregated with teams like northwich? Friendly fans, no history of trouble. It is a sad day I feel when two sets of football fans at conference(or any level to that matter) cannot mingle with each other, have good hearted banter and generally a good time. Idiots like that should not be tolerated!! I couldn't see what happened as I was sitting at the front, but surely the stewards in front of the goal could see who the perpetrator(s) were and moved them away/thrown them out with a warning

For me, it completely tarnished the night. As was said above, it seemed to start off as friendly banter, singing at each other. Then all of a sudden it turned nasty. A select few ruining it, becoming aggressive, threatening, the chants turning from the normal to the offensive, aimed at individuals rather than the club. Myself, my friends and seemingly all the people around me were appauled.

When the Northwich fans were forced to move, we asked them to sit with us (we sit a little to the right of the goal, but they declined, which was probably for the best as it probably would have just exasterbated the problem.

Even after they had moved away and one of the culprits had been removed, there were still chants telling them that they wouldn't make it home and other such imbecilic remarks.

I'm happy that from the post above it seems that the Northwich fans know that these people are not the norm here, but I feel ashamed by it none the less

Cheers Dubb. Good luck to you to for the rest of the season. Had you won on Tuesday and again last night you still could have finished above us with a final total of 75 points had you won all your games. Add this to your cracking run in the Trophy almost getting to Wembley, unfortunate to just fall at the final hurdle.

As for last night I can't say because I didn't see it as I was up the other end. Although living in the borough of Gravesham, or Chav Central if you like, I can fully understand why you moved away. You see one or two, hundred, of the locals like to "keep it in the family" which can leave to all sorts of trouble. Slower learning, extra fingers, foaming at the mouth and a lack of understanding of certain situations. They see films like Football Factory and hear stories about opposition fans beating each other up at football and think this is how things are, it's not their fault, they're just thick. They seem to think that if you're wearing a different shirt than them then you're a human punch bag. A rather hilarious situation given we have all sorts of different people wearing Premiership Teams shirts while wondering around the ground, they don't get threatened.

Last nights match was part of a "buy one game get another one free deal" which attracted all sorts from the area, hopefully the guys that caused the trouble were in that group and won't be making too many visits back in the future as if that’s the way they want to behave then they can stay out.

I can guarantee that the offenders in question looked long and hard at the Vic's fans in order to size up what they're up against. They would have been looking at your group to see if you had large numbers of "heavies", any "big blokes" or anyone that could have "ripped their face off". Seeing as they saw none of these they didn't consider any of your fans to be a threat and felt they could bully you in an egotistical battle for "land". At this point I would have recommended you withdraw and let them have their plastic seats, it is after all they have in their empty little lives. Plus the last thing you would have wanted is to spend the night in Gravesend A&E.

I bet they felt really happy when you withdrew, success finally for the first time in their lives.

You seem like a nice genuine supporter of your club so well done to you and hope everything goes well with Satan Connett. How is the fella that went off injured and was rushed to hospital?

Haven't seen anything confirmed yet, but he (Michael Carr )was taken to hospital with a suspected broken ankle. Hopefully just badly twisted but bad enough. Got any spare players ? we seem to be running out of them for our 4 game week.
