According to the papers on Monday it was 1,003.

Yeah, non league paper claimed the same amount.

Don't forget it is a big ground. The Stand at the far end is supposed to hold 1,000 on it's own, and that was at least half full for the second half.

 

Then there were those at the side and in the seats, not to mention the 50 or so that we had.

 

Their average is 1,200 so it was probably about right, and with the VAT man looking over your shoulder, there's very little point in announcing an inflated gate.
