Has anyone seen the Herts Advertiser this week? The hack has clearly interviewed Gibbo and, unless he has been mis-quoted, there are some snippets of news.

 

It would seem that Nick Roddis and Dean Austiin are in contention for the manager's post. Gibbo hopes to confirm an appointment soon.

 

He said that Bill Chippington has resigned from the board [where do the rumours on here come from, I wondered] but no details were given and there was no follow up to the story in last week's St Albans Observer concerning the lack of support that he has received from other directors this season. Bill was thanked for his efforts. A new shirt sponsor is required.

 

He said that new board members would be welcome and suggested that places might be made available to representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and the District Council [at that point, I thought to my self, hopefully none of the eejits who supported the concept of the construction of the biggest block of flats in the City's histpory with a cinema at gropund floor level in Bricket Road, or anyone associated with the 250% overspend on the City Centre road improvement schemes. Try Cllr Roma Mills, my personal favourite Councillor, I thought.]

 

A small shareholding might be made available to the Supporters Club. [why didn't soemone on here think of the fans looking into the formation of a Supporters Trust earlier this season, I asked myself.]

 

He is quoted that if the nine contracted players stay, we will be over budget next season [he should come on here occasionally] but he hopes that the youngsters from the PASE scheme will be able to make the step up, he said.

 

We will enter a Reserve team in the Capital League next season, it said.

I waited eagerly for the paper to arrive last night!

 

It sounds to me that he is hoping that some of those nine players will leave during the summer. Stating that we over budget with just nine players doesn't sound good!
