Not entirely, David. As I have always maintained, flexibility in formations does seem to be the key. Against stronger sides, or with teams known to have attacking flankmen, 442 is essential. It shows a good solidity and balance. Against weaker teams, and when we need to "go for it" 3-5-2, 3-4-3, or as we seemed to play last night, a rather more complicated 3-1-3-1-2 appears to be the answer.
In any case dogmatically sticking to one formation all season, regardless of opposition or which players are available is a recipe for failure.

I am sure that Liam will credit you with teaching him all he knows, maybe in his speech at the end of season bash ?

Cheers,

Would this be the banter that caused those naughty men in green and white to be removed from the non-segregated Plough-end in the second half.

Did someone get thrown out, I saw 2 stewards escorting someone towards the away exit, perhaps his banter knew no bounds or perhaps they were just making sure he got home in time to get his homework done....

Anyway as people have said good professional team performance with everyone doing their bit, didnt think anyone had a bad game. Bold attacking team selection to secure the points and a bit of luck with the shot that rebounded off the post.

Same commitment (not kicking the ball long into touch from the kick-off was a bit of a shock) on Saturday and hopefully another 3 points should come our way and if either Exeter or York (both away) fail to win then it'll be down to the results on the last day of the season.

Don't forget Burton and Stevenage, we need them to drop some points as well.

Yeah, I saw that, I also saw a family of Fleet fans move away because they were bothered by it. Nice advert for the club.

I'm sure it wasn't any of the usual guys by the drum, just people using the freebis, but those responsible should be ashamed of themselves, I thought it was sickening to be honest, made me ashamed to be associated with them.

Saw some 'interesting' characters leaving the ground on Saturday. COmbat trousers, bovver boots, skinhead, 'political' (shall we say) tattoos, the lot! Of course, they may have been harmless fellas who loved their grans, but they looked more like veterans of the 1980s!

I agree with the comments about Ricketts, I think he is a good passer of the ball and thats what we need in midfield. Its a shame Daish has stuck with Quinn whos a bit of a nancy boy on the pitch.

And those northwich supporters were rather funny

They sat behind us at the end.

Bring on St Albans! Id say it was an easy match but then after Saturday's performance...

I hope the Fleet get back to me on a job too.

Dunno about you Hirsty, but I am of the opinion that there are a few pontificating posters on this forum and that they are so far, far up themselves to be believed, I shall be looking for the second coming next season. (Wait for It)

Great performance by the lads and a game to relish. Nice to see bustling Georgie Purcell given a little run out.

Credit to the halfway liners for their encouragement shown to the players. It was also gratifying to see most punters stop until the final whistle.
