I read in the 'Distorter' that we have ditched Austrian Air as the club's main sponsor and are "pursueing other options".

Not knowing what those other options are, I have to espress my surprise that we have curtailed our relationship with Austrian Air so quickly, particularly as they appear to have supported the club very well this season and being an internationally based company have also improved the clubs profile somewhat.

Therefore as a supporter could I say a big thank you to Austrian Air for stepping in as main sponsor following the disappearance of the previous sponsor GLS and also take this opportunity to wish them well in the future.

That said........anyone know what these alternative options are???

For those unaware, Jason was quoted in this week's Messenger as saying that Austrian made an offer for next season but imposed a deadline for a decision that the club didn't feel it could meet - hence the breakdown in negotiations.

So reading between the lines - AA offered Fleet a deal based on current league status... Fleet declined to accept knowing that if promoted they could get a better deal elsewhere... Fleet now unlikely to get promoted, so a better deal also unlikely.
Am sure that attracting new sponsors won't be an issue - esp after this seasons performance, and knowing there will be more Conference football on TV next year...

Am sure the board know what they are doing!!

According to Botely in todays programme the reason they didn't extend the deal into next season is because they are exploring another deal with a company that could last three years. What if then we had gone with Austrian for one year but then next season they cut it off and we had no-one else?

Thanks very much to Austrian for all their support and I know who to fly with if I go to the European Championship next summer.

"Exploring another deal" doesn't sound that certain to me, lets all hope that the club does not end up regretting kicking Austrian Air into touch and the board with egg on their collective faces.

In last Saturdays program, the club stated that they regreted losing Austrian Airways sponsorship, and was hoping it was going to carry on for at least another season, The Article is on page thirteen of the programe, if you so wish to read the article for yourself, titled AUF WIEDERSEHEN .

Where exactly did you read the word "regret" on the part of the Club at losing Austrian as sponsor Busta? Jason thanked them for their support, but on my reading of his programme notes, although he said that the decision had not been taken lightly, there was no expresion of regret.

This post does seem to confuse Jason's and Gudrun's articles.

Er, that was stated by Austrian themselves, not the Club. Who's the 'numb nuts' now?
