Bar on Saturday

Recommended Posts

I know most people are hooked on their cricket dream teams but O/T a moment for football. Is the bar going to be open early enough on saturday for the Aresenal Man Utd game, i know of 4 keen youngsters who will be having a few beers if it is, probably enough beer to recoup the overheads for the extra period between 12pm-1pm and make a profit!!

Dave, if youd be so kind? <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

I think you need to address that question to whoever takes over running these forums Richard, I sent a message to Admin this morning asking him to remove me as moderator on all GNFC Forums, and I am now waiting for my name to turn from green to black.

You don't need to spend a lot of time really.

All you have to do is to keep an eye on the Forum and deal with any abusive/racist/foull language posts, and delete/edit them as you feel appropriate.

The only other thing you need is a very very thick skin!

I've spoken to Jason, and the bar will open at 12:00 for all you thirsty punters.

Having known Dave for donkeys years ( and supported the Fleet with him since the 60's) I can appreciate why he's got fed up with the aggro. Over the years Dave has put much more into the club than most fans and probably doesn't see why he should be slagged off by people who can't even do it under their own name. I hope that someone with a bit of time and more access than I have to the net will take over as moderator and we can continue to keep this forum going. The regulars on this site may not form the majority of Fleet fans, but I think we are all hard core committed supporters. Lets not forget that the pledge scheme started on here, and WHEN we stay up, other ideas will come through from here to help the club prosper against the big boys. Thanks for all of your efforts Dave, see you as usual in the bar on Saturday.

Totally agree with Ronnie's comments .

Dave's a loyal supporter and good mate to all those who know him .

Anonymous postings have been our downfall .

Dave started up the web site when attendances were fixed by Maurice at around 398 and we have had a lot of fun over the past 4/5 (?) years .

The clubs higher profile has led to more contributors , for better , for worse .

I have never personally liked the 'Anonymous' posters.

I agree that making the site registered means that fewer away fans tend to post but I think that is a small price to pay to stop faceless wonders posting ridiculous personal attacks on people.

Dave does a lot of work for the website, probably more than he should and to be continually accused of favouritism etc is rubbish.

The moron who threw his toys out of the pram when Jessica asked him for a pledge in the bar is another example of people who do absolutely nothing but turn up on a Saturday making the people who do loads behind the scenes wonder if its all worth it.

I was in the bar on that Saturday and if 'Foghorn Tony' thinks the comments he made were necessary then he needs to take a good long look at himself.

Comments like 'Ill give you a donation if you can make sure Tostao plays every week' aren't that helpful when all people are trying to do is give the club a hand with transfers.

I personally don't blame Dave for chucking it in, people need to realise there are real people behind these board names who suprisingly might take offence to people questioning what they do for the club.

Agree about the anonymous posters. Only 2 or 3 of the posts they've made since the forum was made open to everyone again have been useful. The rest have been totally unnecessary. The comments made towards Jessica were completely unnecessary and needed be posted here. She like Dave does a lot for the club, the last thing they both needs is stick from people who haven't even got the guts to register on the forum.

Thanks to Dave for the great job his done moderating the forum.

The comment was made as a joke as we were sitting with rob owen and others from the team, the dispute was that I already had pledged £x amount and Jessica went into one.

Of which I have personally sent her an email to apologise but yet to hear a response.

Its just the usual people that carry it on...

Hence no postings for nearly a year!

Agree with all these Jess and Dave do great work for the club and we should be grateful for the time they give to the club, perhaps we should let this lie down now, if Foghorn Tony has said he has sent an e-mail to apoligse that's that, agree with YG we should stop anonymous postings, the pledges for the club is fantastic and it will go towards better players and hopefully a better future for the club, as the person who started the pledge ball rolling under my other name of mel.s i thank you all.
