Couple of questions anybody...?

Recommended Posts

Have we won any Ryman Monthly Awards this season? I can't remember.

What's the official maximum capacity at New Lodge. No reason for asking wink Just interested, that's all!

Apologies if this is in a programme or something, but I don't have access to one at the mo.

I wasn't suggsting we should have won any. On the contrary, I think that if we haven't it says a great deal about an excellent all-round team performance that has strengthened over the course of the season and peaked when needed.

As a wise person once said, "it's a marathon, not a sprint"! But now the finish line is in sight smile .

Thanks Andy. Presumably the capacity has been reduced slightly then since we had nearly 4000 in for the West Ham friendly in 1977. I guess we had no-where near as many seats then.

3500 is the official capacity, but i dont think thats realistic. When we played Wisbech circa 1997 the attendance was something like 1900, and if i remember correctly, that was fairly tight. I stand to be corrected but i reckon 2500 would be about the tops.

424 seats sounds about right to me

In 1997 I think we didn't have the 'far side' except the old supporters club stand. There were seats at the Blunts Wall Road end, which probably gave us a capacity of around 2,700ish.

For the big games in the 70's, I think they drafted in temporary seats/stands from Essex County Cricket Club.

For me that was one of the best 'ricay games I have seen over the past 35 years I've been watching Town. It's also one of the few times I have not stood in the cowshed, simply because it was already packed!!!

Ended up standing on the Essex CCC benches in one corner watch us whip Farnborough 6-0 with Ricky McQueen scoring a hat-trick!!

It was Easter Saturday and it snowed, just to make it even more memorable.
