Chris I know a company but I can't think of it right now. I've got their details somewhere at home so I'll PM you later if I can find them. Might be worth having a word with Coachie because the Hullbridge pitch has been very good this year.

Hey Boss, the best thing you can do with that pitch is move it well away from E7.

Yeah I know you said serious replies only but I couldn't resist!!! grin

Actually, I do remember that a few years ago, Bowers & Pitsea approached Writtle Agricultural College and made an arrangement with them that the students could use the pitch to practice their groundskeeping skills on. They got the pitch in great shape for the new season for nothing (as it was to the mutual benefit of both parties), but unfortunately they could do nothing about the drainage within the timescales, due to the underlying "London Clay" upon which most of the area is built.

Frm Clapton FC website:

"Saturday 5th May

After a ground visit from Leyton Orient groundsman Adrian Martin the club have had 20 tonnes of sports sand spread across large problem areas of the pitch. All small potholes have been filled by hand.

Both goalmouths have been regraded and the next step is on Tuesday when the pitch will be fully seeded.

Hopefully giving the Tons quality surface for next season all we can pray for is rain so the grass seed will take"

Today's the day then. They probably had a good drop of rain on Sunday night/Monday so let's hope they are lucky with growing weather.

What about the large potholes? will Smallsy still be at risk? smile
