Reserves V Faversham Town Reserves

Then on the half hour in a great move started by a Rowlands kick, the ball was headed onto Bagley by Wisker, who then flicked it over the head of the goalie to Stellon on the right who hit a great cross back to Bagley who then hit his volley wide of the right post. However in the 37th minute Bagley broke through, rounded the keeper and slid the ball goalwards, it then looked like a defender might clear it off the line but Karl Barron followed through and poked the ball over the line keeping up his gal scoring spree.

Pardon, Alan devil

Mr Hammond is locally based and will be aware of the talent we have in the reserve set up, I said it before we should tie down some of these youngsters ASAP or risk losing them elsewhere if he is the assistant manager at Faversham?

Who do you think could be taken from the reserve set up??

Imo I would say Pratt, Barron, Heath, Allen, and probably 1 or 2 more could play at Favershams level and it would probably do them some good.

I don't think they would break into the Margate team without getting a big more experiance under their belts either at a Kent league side or maybe a year or two more in the reserves.

I would say no one in the reserves is good enough yet for a first team call but thats my opinion. On the other hand there is quality there but need to give it time.

As I've said before in other threads its not worth taking players up to first team just for the sake of it. training with the first team is a different matter but they train to far away for our locals so thats not practical either but thats whats needed for these lads to feel like they have a chance.

My prefered option would be to sign the above players and stick them out on loan for a year and see how they progress if they come good then bring them back.

Good points, I don’t think they would break in to the first team yet, but we do need to tie them in to some form of contract and I agree loan them out and keep them within the reserve set up bigtw.

The lads you suggest I agree with a lot of promise, and they need to see the training that is undertaken within the firs team set up.

Disagree with Heath tony. Think he needs to be more vocal as a centre back and does tend to sometimes "bottle" things. agree with Paul Axon, Keiron Morris, Karl Barron. Pratt needs to prove his fitness and get more games under his belt.

how dare you disagree with me Dan lol. I've been saying that about Heath since I saw him first play. He is inconsistent like the other night had a stinker against Faversham but was quality against VCD and He is too quite. Having said that with a spell with the first team training would it be brought out of him ?worth a try I say

Forgot about Keiron Morris but again he is nowhere near first team has a good engine just needs to get his head up more for awareness Plus his attitude needs sorting to much gob to the refs.

Axon was one of the 2 i did'nt mention due to the fact he is younger than the other and will need to stay with weaths for a couple of years to increase his awareness around him another player who puts his head down and just runs without reading the game and realising the ball travels quicker than you can run with it, so why not pass and move.

Just my observations and opinions.

Darryn Vanhinsberg impressed me a lot the other night. Very pacey & not afraid to take on the full backs down the wings.Showed some skills too.Good left foot.(possibly ALL left foot). One for the future I think.Dan Allen(no3) gave the ball away far too often for my liking, on the night. Not impressed with him considering he's been called up to the first team on a couple of occasions.Number 16(name not known) also showed some enterprise & another who's not afraid to take on the defence.
