fairy tale A nice article in NLP today:Histon manager Steve Fallon,after securing promotion to the Conference,is insisting there is no way he could live with the guilt of living outside the club's means.The books must balance,he says.Yesterday victory capped a glorious end to an extra special eight years in charge for Fallon,who has masterminded the Cambridgeshire village team's rise from the Eastern Counties to non league pinnacle.Promotion has been secured with one of the division's more modest playing budgets,and seven members of Fallon's current squad have been working side by side with their manager since his arrival.He says:we like to do things right,bringing players through our ranks and stick with the ones that stick with us.They can get more money elsewhere and they know it.They want to be part of a successful team.They are and they love it.Chairman Baldwin added:it's amazing when you consider that 15 years ago we were wondering how we were going to keep the club going in the eastern counties league.With the club now a big part of our local community,i really hope that we have given the village a football club to be proud of.
