First of all, a BIG thank you to Hertford for beating Harefield, the news was met with loud cheers from both players and supporters. I felt that Harefield could slip up, and now they have, I feel Hertford will nick the second place spot, and maybe even a promotion spot depending on what happens in other leagues.

 

To our match today, we played well, and should and could have been 3 or 4 up in the first quarter of an hour. We took the lead on the stroke of HT a Morton pen, and then added to that with a Stuart Blackburne and Adam Wallace goals in a second half where we looked comfortable.

 

So....a win on Tuesday night and we are CHAMPIONS, all we need is to take 2pts from a possible 9, a VERY nice posistion to be in, Tuesday night is going to be some party if we do it smile

Our win today means that we need just 2pts from 9, so either two draws from our last 3, one win, we are in a great posistion, we can win afford to win on Tuesday and lose our last two games!, not that we will.

CSP wont be a walkover, but with the pressure now off us, I expect us to win, and then lift the championship at home to Levesrstock on Sat!

HTFCew, were Harefield poor, Hertford too good for them, tell me about the match.

 

I see the biggest crowd of the season was at the match 191, were there many Hertford fans? I bet they had a mass sing song 'we all hate Gavin' LOL

There were quite a few Hertford supporters, but there were a couple of kids teams doing a penalty shoot-out at half-time, so they swelled the numbers.

The first half we were on top for most of it. Kevin Cooper scored after about 4 minutes - a goal out of nothing, chip, turn and volley. I'll try to add the pics.

The second half was more Harefield, and there were a few panicky moments in our goal. I was convinced they had scored at least twice. Ryan Redford got our 2nd a few minutes from the end - solo run and beat the keeper.

Thanks to Hertford for nicking the points off Harefield but an even bigger thank you to the players and mamagement of Edgware Town. We had a spell of jitters a few weeks ago, with the title race getting so close, but the boys battled through it and have come out even stronger. WELL DONE THE WARES!

I have to say I was amazed when I saw this figure, I reckon all the kids were running around so much they all got counted three times!

You deserved to win, and 3-0 was about right.

We had FOUR good efforts on goal in the opening 15 minutes.

 

I thought 3-0 was about right, good day, and even better because Hertford beat Harefield, now to be crowned champions tomorrow night !
