Lord Lippy Is Leaving Us

Recommended Posts

I'd like to see Roddis given a chance at least until Xmas next season. As you say, JK, he's unproven, but he knows the squad. If it doesn't work out then we can move on.

We were all up in arms when Lippo inherited his position a while back and that didn't turn out too bad.

I wasn't Laz when him and Cash came in I said they were the wrong way round (With Lippy his No 2), I was glad Cash left and the Lord took over.

not sure about that Laz, some of us knew what he did at Woking.

equally didnt Castle step up...

think we're on a downward spiral tbh and a new regime might be the kick up the [****!!****] we need

we should and could have stayed up this season.

You need a manager with proven experience at that level. Someone like Colin McBride for example.

Did anyone look at the "News in Brief" section of BBC (digital) teletext football last night?

The opening page had two stories from, perhaps, different ends of the world of football:

1. AC Milan can win Seie A if they beat someone tonight

2. LL leaves St Albans

Wouldn't be surprised if they go straight up but the Urchins won't find the Ryman Premier that easy.

Hi Laz.

I don't think that it's fair to say that we were "up in arms" when Colin took over from Stuart Cash?

Clearly Gibbo was taken completely by surprise when Cash left, as were the rest of us. Gibbo seemed to me to go into a state of shock and was quoted in the press to the effect that he wasn't sure what to do next. For my part, I wanted him to be certain that Colin was the man for the job rather than offer him the post almost 'by default'.

It turned out pretty well in the end, mind! Brilliant peice of planning on the part of the Board!

;-)

Err.... Hold on a minute, Laz.

So you're suggesting that the post is advertised, a series of interviews, second interviews and, after a couple of days of psychometric tests, the new man, or lady, is unveilled as the new manager of the Mighty Saints in a blaze of publicity with more soundbites that you can shake a stick at. [i wouldn't draft any examples for Gibbo, he can make 'em up as he goes along.]

He, or she, then announces the appointment of a Number 2, a person not previously linked with the post.

The new manager loses the first game and promptly resigns thus joining Stuart Cash as, statistically, the worst manager in the whole history of the club, ever, and the Number 2 is then given the job.

Is that what you have in mind?

There ought to be an easier way, I would have thought.

;-)

That Amy whatsername was one of the best referees we saw this season. Perhaps she might fancy a side-step into management.

Or Fiona Bruce has a certain something in an odd way. Jodie Kidd seems like a nice gel.

No. Too little experience in the Conference South on reflection. And they probably couldn't throw the tea-cups far enough at half-time.

:-)
