Great game at Canvey today....as you lot have already said, great bunch of fans. Sudbury played well today and look to be running into a bit of form in time for the play offs. 392 seems a bit low, as we certainly took a load down there, thought there was more.....maybe Canvey fans have given up on play offs.

Surely our biggest game of the season was against you lot? wink

The crowd was lower than I expected for such a crunch game - as mentioned Sudbury did bring quite a few fans down who were noisey and got behind their side. They also played their part in the minutes "noise" to commemorate Fred The Bugle who sadly passed away - many thanks to their fans for understanding and sharing that moment.

Overall our crowds have been pretty good this season and our away support has managed to get gates into triple figures at all our away games.

Here are the remaining fixtures for play-off contenders.

Harlow Town

21/4 AFC Sudbury (a)

28/4 Waltham Forest (h)

Enfield Town

21/4 Ilford (a)

28/4 Flackwell Heath (h)

Maldon

21/4 Wivenhoe (h)

28/4 Potters Bar (a)

AFC Sudbury

17/4 Tilbury (h)

21/4 Harlow Town (h)

24/4 Great Wakering R. (a)

28/4 Tilbury (a)

Canvey

21/4 Potters Bar (h)

28/4 Enfield (a)

I suspect Sudbury are now favourites to edge out Canvey. Seven points from their last four games will guarantee Sudbury a play-off place. Whilst Maldon are (AFAIK) not seeking promotion they should still have done enough to finish in a play-off position.

Enfield Town should edge out Harlow for second spot and so Harlow will play Sudbury with the winners playing ET for the promotion spot.

maldon have apealed a recent decision by league not to allow them to compete. maldon as it stands i believe wish to compete, wish to be promoted and wish to appeal to be allowed this.

thats all bollox smallsy...the league don't have the right to make a decision not to allow them to compete

fact is they didn't apply in time for promotion as the other clubs did....and they have been promoted twice in recent years so no excuses there....they know the procedures...

obviously they have changed their minds and put in a late application for promotion..be interesting to see what happens if the league turn them down and they appeal to the FA.... grin

Hopefully they won't win in the play offs.

only going on what the players are being told unc. may just be a ploy to keep them motivated until end of season. we all await the outcome.

It's not totally clear regarding the AFC Wimbledon situation in the Ryman Premier especially if other clubs decide to appeal against it.

I have nowt against maldon or indeed afcw (a few gobby fckers excepted) but I do believe that the rules should be applied...having said that...in maldons case it probably makes more sense to let them go into the play offs if they make it as no one else can gain and its bit of a farce letting the second placed club have a bye....

oy vay....as if I should care.... yay grin
