looks like it really is Edgware's title now.

Good win for us today and I also see that PBT's 'stupid' prediction for Kentish Town v Ampthill wasn't that stupid after all.

What a wonderful week to be a Tottenham fan and a Langford fan!!!! Football can be a beautiful game, but mostly ITS NOT!!

We were truly awful again today and thank goodness we picked up those points at the start of the season, as we must be the worst team on form at the moment. However, as usual will be at Harefield on Tueday for more punishment.

Well it was a stupid prediction on paper at least, some astute predictors, including Gavin and Tubbsy8, gave us to win the game and we would have done had the Referee not made a double sending off early on, for what was handbags at dawn, which blew our game plan out of the water and played into Ampthill's hands, we even wondered whether Ampthill knew exactly what they were doing and sacrificed one of their players, chess style when you sacrifice a pawn.

but they (gavin and Tubbsy8) were wrong, hence PBT's prediction proved to be astute. You really do write some complete Tosh don't you rhodes.

Lato - Not at all, anyone who was at Ampthill Park yesterday would tell you that we were far the better side prior to the double sending off which totally changed the course of the game, our man Thomas Looney was causing them all sorts of problems and they didn't know which way to turn. Southmidsfan points out that Looney threw the first punch and that's true but the Ampthill player knew exactly what he was doing to provoke a reaction and had no doubt been briefed, Don Revie style, before the game by their Coach who was playing mind games all afternoon.

Kentish Town 1 Ampthill 4.. the result doesn't lie and neither does the league table. You should take a look at it sometime.

You mean opposing clubs have sussed out that Kentish Town are an indisciplined bunch who can easily be thrown out of their stride?

They're not indisciplined but many have short fuses and have trouble biting their tongue when provoked as was the case at Ampthill and at another game recently when racial comments were used towards players and 'the great one' to throw us out of our stride as you put it.

Well put it this way, if you were a coloured person and someone came up to you and called you terrible names with plenty of b's and f's in them would you just stand there and take it. The same applies if someone came up to you and kicked you as hard as they could on the ankle, would you just say thanks.

I always find biding your time for a timely two footer up the achilles works for me!

I cannot be the only one who finds the allegations made in the post regarding racists remarks to players and the coach, a very serious matter?

With all the efforts being made by the 'Kick Racism out of Football' campaign, lets hope this is an isolated case.

Also, did none of the officials here this abuse and if so did they take any action?

Miko - Thanks for your comments, The Referee in question said that 'he thought there was a racial under current' but didn't touch on it in his report and blamed our player entirely for his reaction when he was sent off, this can't be right particularly when, as you say, we are trying to kick racism out of the beautiful game. 'The great one' was absolutely horrified at what went on that day having played at the very highest level of the world game, it was somewhat of a culture shock to him.

For the worst incident of it's kind look at Danny Chapman of Dover Athletic in Ryman 1 South. He was sent off last month for racial comments against his own team mate! His club are still awaiting a decision from the FA. I can't see him playing for them ever again and will be surprised if any other club will employ him.

We've come a long way since the mid seventies and the days of 'the Three Degrees' at West Bromwich Albion under Ron Atkinson, namely Laurie Cunningham, Cyril Regis and Brendan Batson however sadly racism still exists in the beautiful game and needs to be stamped out once and for all with heavier penalties.
