The John Docherty Weeks

Bit of a history question here.

 

When exactly did John Docherty manage Slough Town? The 91/92 season when we drew 3-3 with Reading? The year we were relegated for the first time, under Les Briley? Did he manage us to the top of the league, then Briley took us down in the same season? Did Docherty manage the Reading game? It's all a little hazy, but am trying to clarify something for a Bradford City-supporting friend of mine.

 

I remember for some reason that Docherty only stayed until he got some compensation money from Millwall - or Bradford?

 

Any help would be appreciated.

John Doc was manager of Slough in the season that Briley took us down. We went top and the doc left for "family reasons" - Briley took over and we were relegated. Can't remember the precise season.

he apparently got loads of money compensation from bradford for getting the bullet, and his wife was a teacher in the bradford area-so he used that as his excuse to leave-i think he lasted 10 or 11 games.
