Bromley are a good side and made us pay for poor defending, taking their chances well. We are not a good side and didn't create anything of note. And it was hot. That's about it really - same old story.

We were totally outplayed.

 

In the second half, the Bromley people around us were complaining (in the last 20 mins) that they lacked the killer instinct !

To be honest you really dread to think what would happen if they really went for it in the second half. Could have had 10 plus easily.

I must say I was slightly shocked when I got the text reply from Marcus about the score on Saturday evening, especially after the draw we had got against Margate last week.

 

Current GD is -89 with 3 games to go, what are the chances of us making -100 before the end of the season, with 2 of the top clubs left to play? Quite high I think. The team are obviously giving everything but I cant see us getting a lot from the last 3 games with Hampton chasing for the title. Maybe a point from Staines?

I don't think some of the players were giving their all, particularly towards the end of the second half, and that's what was disappointing for me. Hopefully that will be addressed for Chelmsford's visit on Saturday otherwise a similar or worse scoreline will be on the cards.

But can you really blame them for that? Its very hard to keep going when what you're doing isn't producing results, but 9-0 anmd 8-0 hammerings instead.

Can they not play for personal pride? You ask the players how many text messages they received after the 9-0 and how embarrassing it was for them. I would have thought they would have been trying their hardest to prevent repeats.
