I'm not aware of it being on any website.

I agree what you say if something is commercially sensitive, but at the moment all I am trying to do is to trace the press release that David says has been issued but does not seem to have been made known. How did you find it David?

kmj 'Press' releases are issued to the 'media'. The KM apparently have a copy and I suspect the Reporter may have as well. I would think Austrian would have copied in the Club. So I expect you will read/hear about it this week. Being half German, so understand how big International Companies think in Germany/Austria, having turned them down the deal is now dead. Yes, I think it is a shame because they did seem to be active and supportive of the Club, but we do need to move on and see what happens, because we the supporters cannot change anything.

Yes we will and rightly so, obviously the club can't and shouldn't start announcing deals before they are signed.

Except this information is already in the public domain by way of the press statement that only the press are allowed to see.

Sorry Harry but I do not understand this response. My comment was relating to the 'termination' of the sponsorship agreement with Austrian Airlines. Do you not agree then that as fans are concerned this matter is closed ? There is nothing the Club can do so fail to see your point.

My understanding is that Austrian (a willing sponsor for a further season) have been ditched without a firm alternative sponsor in place and that the other possibility is currently only speculative. Presumably the directors know what they are doing. The time to discover whether this is so will be just before the beginning of next season and when eventually shareholder's seek evidence of exactly how much more lucrative another sponsor turns out to be (if at all) rather than what Austrian had offered. It may be that the hoped for new sponsor has much deeper pockets that it is prepared to mine for the well being of the Club. Who knows?

The predominent current new breed of sponsors in football are gambling companies. As the league is being sponsored by such a company next season it will be assumed that they will not be happy to have a rival sponsor individual teams within its own league, especially as TV coverage will be greater. Hopefully we are not in discussions with a gambling concern.

The Club have a lot to thank Austrian for as they stepped in at the 13th hour as our sponsors, but at the moment such gratitude is actually hard to detect.

Hopefully the Club will put out a statement shortly and explain the reasoning behind its decision.

I feel sorry for those fans who will be expected to shell out for yet another change of shirt next season. There can't be more than one or two other Conference Club's who have had so many frequent changes as the Fleet.

Just a couple of throw away points here :-

a) Should we launch a double campaign to i) get more shareholders to the AGM & ii) get more fans to the matches ? You can only invite shareholders....it's up to them whether they turn up....if they don't, then they miss a great opportunity to find out what is going on & ask question if needed.

B) Chatham Gary - you can afford a new shirt - a man of your standing in the community - think of the cause !!

Cheers,

It's a matter of principle, Hirsty. My 10 yeat old daughter, unbeknown to me, saved her pocket money and bought it in January for my 50th. To date I have worn it about 8 times, which will be 11 after Daggers.

I will stick with my nice new AA shirt thank you.

If the club intends to change sponsors every season, perhaps the shop should consider selling shirts without the sponsors logo.

After all, who is going to buy one of these shirts still on the shelf, which in all likelihood will be obsolete after Saturday.

What's the issue ? I still wear older versions of the shirt.......after all , it it is still a GNFC shirt, despite who the sponsors are/were at the time.......I like the Shepherd Neame one ....at least a creditable sponsor....by that I mean that the old Chuppa Chups SWFC shirts don't often get an airing !!

Cheers,

If you were talking about this perticular deal at this stage then yes I guess you are right, there is nothing you can do. However if you are talking about this deal at an earlier stage then you're very much mistaken, there is something the fans can do.

There are plenty of things we can change as fans, but the "can't do" attitude won't get you anywhere.
