In the first half he was having to look over his shoulder on numerous occasions to see where the bloke he was meant to be marking was.
They ripped us apart through his channel, which may have had something to do with the words which were exchanged.

Ha.......tell you what?...let's all not go to a game again...then the club would get no money & fold...to the delight of some who, I am sure, that their weekends are ruined when Fleet win.

Yes, it wasn't good today....yes it was disappointing & gutting.......I'll be there Thursday though....you see ? I support my team through thick & thin.....not moan/f*ck off at a bad performance !....glad some of you weren't with me in the trenches....couldn't depend on you could I ?

Disclaimer:- this is a personal opinion and not aimed at any one individual. I respect your right to respond but, if you have a go at me, I really couldn't give a sh*t !

See you Thurs...or, then again, maybe not !

Cheers,

I also will be there on thursday too,as will no doubt the rest of us faithfull, i too am there on most games depending on night shift, point being, a lot of people there today are floating football fans, and have the right to flit in and out of games , and performances like that will not encourage them to return on a regular basis.

What a foolish thing to say when most have a free ticket.

I'll be there too , because I support this club ; that includes the management and staff , every player in a Fleet shirt , and everyone who gives their time/money/effort for the Fleet . Supporting any team is your choice - you can't change your allegiance as an adult , like kids do ... it's childish . But empty stands on Thursday won't do much for our young players , will it ? And would certain posters want to see them back next season , or suffer what every true Fleet fan hated at the start of this season , ie a 5-a-side squad retained from last year ? Like every other bl**dy team , we need a few more players . We won't get them if we can't afford them . And we'll lose what we've got if they feel they're not wanted . Don't ever blame a player for having an off day - we've all had one . I got trained to do my job , but with all the training in the world I couldn't do theirs . Let them get on with it , and we'll do our bit - on the terraces , where we belong , this season and the seasons to come . GRAVESEND TILL I DIE

I can see one of those 2 drawing or losing next Saturday so if we can win Thursday and again Saturday then it will be down to results on the final Saturday. Or cant I do sums any more.....

This is encouraging. Unfortunately, it doesn't take Burton, who are now above us, into account. They have Halifax (h), Northwich (a) and Rushden (h), all of which look eminently winnable.

That said, we all thought pursuit of a top five place was over after the defeat at Tamworth, yet a week or so later it was looking much more possible. As difficult as it will be, particularly mentally after yesterday's demoralizing hiding, it's probably best not to rule it out until it's arithmetically impossible.

After the first booking of opninel,The Ref was going to send him off no matter what I felt,he was just looking for the first chance and it came very quickly.

He turned down at least 3 penalty claims for the Fleet, of which one I felt was a def penalty, they had one claim and he obliged. What a suprise.

The ref was the biggest heap of pooh I have ever seen,in saying that,We deserved what we got, First goal Lance dived under the ball as it bounced. why the hell he dived I have no idea, In my opnion one or two steps to his left and he could have let it roll to him.We started off 442, let in two goals then changed to 352. Why???? nothing was played through the middle was a big hoof over the top of both defences.why put extra man in the middle?then by pass the mid field ?

Southport fought and battled for every ball, made us look like the team that were fighting for survival and they were playing for the play offs. Had my winge, see you all Thursday

On reflection, perhaps my description of Burton's match with Northwich as 'eminently winnable' was a bit misplaced, given Northwich are top of the form table. Doesn't bode well for Thursday either, though.

I think that it would have been wise before the kick-off for the team and management to have taken note that Southport were the team with the second best form in the Conference over the previous 5 games.

The Club did a really good job in getting the message out about this game and as someone offering the new fanzine for sale inside the main gate I noted a lot of new or occasional visitors arriving. The team as a whole let the Club and supporters down yesterday. There were a few honourable exceptions such as Sodje who ran 'till the end, but as a unit we were at sixes and sevens.

Oh, and just to cheer you all up, the team who currently have the best form record over the last 6 games is - Northwich. So Liam and the lads don't expect an easy ride on Thursday either!

Well I returned on Saturday, and I have kept quiet until now. Ok the first goal was a mistake by Cronin, but then for the number of times he has saved us this season, you can't have a go at the guy. The 2nd goal was so blatantly offside it was unbelieveable. If the striker who was onside had gone on and scroed then ok, but the striker who did score was clearly offside initially and it should not have been allowed. The penalty decision was laughable too, and just summed up the officials performance. Maybe our season is nearly over, but the boys need to respond by getting 6 points this week and see where it leaves us heading to the final game. Hopefully Exter and York might slip up and let us back in, back it will be hard. :-)
